... that Brisbane beats Collingwood tonight, and big Jonathan Brown kicks another bag of goals, my concern is that Scott Stevens (even though has been improving significantly each week) will not be able to match him. Will we think about getting K-Mac to stand Brown as he has had past success on him? In which case, would leave a hole in our CHF position. We could swap Scott Stevens there but he has had little to no success in that position this season.

Rutten stood him last time and got Brownlow votes IIRC. Rutten on Brown, Basset on Bradshaw, Stevens on 3rd forward.

Agreed.

Although I recall that Brown and Kenny have had some good battles in the past. Brown mentioned in an interview some time ago that he really rates Kenny as a player.:thumbsu:

Rutten definitely on Brown. Don't mess with Kenny now he has found some form.

Either Stevens, Bassett or Massie could play on Bradshaw.

I don't think Massie has the physical presence to exert any pressure on Bradshaw. Bassett on Bradshaw for sure.

What makes you say that?

Massie is terrific as getting a spoil in. If Massie can get Lucas out of the game (taller and possibly stronger than Bradshaw) why wouldn't he be able to go with Bradshaw?

It's a shame we don't have Benny available.

Rutten on Brown (his first real opponent in a month).
Hart on Bradshaw
Bassett third-up would have worked a treat.

You obviously haven't been watching many games this year!

Unfortunately, that's true. I live in Sydney, and the coverage of Adelaide games here are extremely limited.

My thoughts to as with no Benny we lose out with Basset our 2nd tall and not our third.

I reckon Stevens will be given first crack at Bradshaw. Whether or not that works is a different story, but I reckon Craigy will back him for that contest.
Truck on Brown for sure. Owned him last time they met.

Daniel Bradshaw may start back on Ken McGregor with Jason Roe on Trent Hentschel and Mal Michael standing Mark Ricciuto

Jonathon Brown, Jarred Brennan and Joel Patfull as the Brisbane lions key Forwards.

Is Torney fit?

Torney on Bradshaw and leave KMac to create Matthews headache
South had bye - he played for Eagles reserves - kicked a goal but not named in best players.

No way stevens could play on Brown not fast enough, fit enough or strong enough.

However I think he has great footskills but his lack of defensive prowess was highlighted against Lucas when he kicked those two quick goals.

Looked like an amateur but keep him as a quater back because he can spot targets well coming out of defence.

Massie looks like a new player seems far stronger and far more agressive. Brandshaw would be a great test for him!!

Am I the only one that thinks Truck has had an ordinary season so far? In the games I've seen, he has constantly been beaten to the ball when his opponent makes a lead. I am nervous with him on Brown this week but I know there is no other option. I think the only way to beat this man mountain is to stop the supply. Keep the ball up the other end while we score heaps of goals... that's the best plan IMO!

this is the key - Bass will need to work hardest to help out whoever gets Brown.

How many goals has Truck had kicked on him this year? How does that stack up against last year? I reckon he's travelling okay.
He's doin fine

Sometimes he looks average because Craigy insits on playing him on ruckmen and he's strength lies from being able to be able to reach over or around a player to spoil this is hard to do on a body the size of someone like Hille. Doesn't anyone remember Darcy last year when he got killed?!?

Truck is having a great year up for AA selection again!!

I don't think Rutten's looked quite as invincible so far this season - but he's still doing a very good job IMO.

He's the obvious option for Brown, though it's going to be all about restricting their midfield. If Brown gets reasonable supply, there's not a player in the AFL who can stop him.

He's set a benchmark last year Jenny that your right he's not achieving.

He has always been slowerr against a leading forward and iam sure opposition sides are asking his opponents to lead and take him away from the FB area where his team mates were able to lend support last year.

Bradshaw is listed as injured after the game against Collingwood. It would be bluddy handy if he wasnt fit.
As for Truck, I agree he is not in the same form as he was last year. If Hille had kicked straight on Friday night we would have to admit that Hille gave him a bath. A bit of a worry actually.
