The game isnt the problem, its fairly free flowing, and the umps have little influence on the final result like in AFL.

The problem is the leagues.

Early on when the AFL used it as an end of season trip, it was pathetic.

When sheedy drilled some pride into them it became good to watch, but the irish had a sook because the big bad AFL was to physical (but within the rules).

Many rules were subsequently changed as the GAA threatened to put a 1 year no play contract clause on its players, meaning the AFL would pretty much have lost any irish prospect.

Since then, the game has evolved into nothing more then a good-will game to make sure the AFL Clubs still have the irish avenue

Wonder why the GAA really want the game. Do they make a lot of money from it when the game is played in Ireland?

Terrible squad which has done wonders to kill off the series. Doesn't mean they can't try to play football properly. At least they are trying in this quarter.

This series has really shown that whilst being a star AFL player doesn't guaruntee you to be a star at the hybrid game, it certainly helps.

Australia's best players have been Kelly, Frawley and Vince. Two are All-Australians. Vince has loads of talent but had a poor year. There is certainly a difference watching them to average players like Wood, Nahas and Nicoski.

Who was the last average AFL player to do really well at International Rules?

Razor Ray insisting the player dob in what happened then asking for the video ref to replay it so he could card someone way after the game has continued is way to much for me, the card system used like that has lost me..

One last point, let's not forget that Australia smashed the Irish over there last year. The concept has more issues than just the poor performance of Australia this year.
