Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

I heard this! He walked into the Crows and said I love the Crows....Can I get a game?

I think the story that I have in mind was more so he didn't initially receive a scholarship offer from us, but did from another team (Collingwood?), and called us to give us first option.

Nothing to base that on other than what I might have read on here years back though.

That's the story I have heard, that said, there's every chance that I heard it from you.

We didn't know at the time that the side payments would fit under the cap.

Our intention was, purely, to cheat.

I was assuming those so called "side payments" was Part of some legal deal outside of the cap Similar to Judds Visy deal from 2008-2012 at Carlton.

Watched Footy Classified Monday night 2nd June & paid particular attention to Vlad's (Demetriou's) interview. Among a whole range of things, Gary Lyon really put Vlad to the sword over the Trigg-Rendell affair, where Lyon quoted some previous comments Vlad made -
"Matt Rendell should start looking for another job."
Or words very similar to that. Then Vlad went on to say that Rendell's dismissal was entirely between Rendell & The Adelaide Football Club, where he had nothing to do with the decision that was made. Christ Almighty! Has Vlad's brain taken a leave of absence? How on God's green Earth do you expect anyone to believe that?!?
Any decent CEO would've immediately got on the phone to the top Silks in the land, who would've then slapped Vlad with a writ to appear in Court. Instead, we get served up a plate of public relations garbage, where arguably the finest Recruiter in the Land clears out his desk & heads to Collingwood.
It's this exact sort of garbage why Trigg is nothing but a self-serving stain on this club....who needs to be made a distant memory.
Unlike many people, I despise racism....particularly closet racists....hearing them make the most vile comments in private, away from public scrutiny....particularly about Aborigines & Muslims & people from the Middle East. These Redneck idiots make me sick.
But all those months ago, I watched the Rendell interview & was absolutely moved by what I heard him say. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but (in my opinion) everything Matt Rendell has ever said has been with the best intentions. Whatever offence he caused was (in my opinion) taken out of context, where both Vlad & Trigg have publicly shattered that man....AND his family.
This incident is one of many where Trigg has proven....etched in stone....that he is a stain on this club....and needs to be shown the door. At the moment, the players are working their guts out....not for the club that we love....but for public reputation & financial wealth of our CEO & Senior Hierarchy.
We need a change at this club, and from a long time ago.

Top post and a passionate one too.:thumbsu:

I agree that Rendells Dismissal wasnt entirely between the Crows and Rendell. I had this gut feeling Vlad pressured the crows to get rid of him. If the crows didnt, they would of faced more public scrutiny which is one thing Trigg and the other crows board Members wanted at the club.

Your last Paragraph summed up what I thought of Cameron Schwab stint as Freos CEO from 2002-2009. Schwab and Chris Connolly acted liked best mates in which the 2002-2007 era was the "Schawbolly era"

To all the crows fans, I want you to go on that cameron schwab thread above and Read Imperial Purples comment which is post #6.

The fact we paid for Schawbs uni course at Harvard in his final year at freo angered me!

Until the Adelaide media turn on him he ain't going anywhere. Because hes born and bred in SA we can forgive even the most extreme of indiscretions. If he was Victorian we would have run him out of town along time ago.

He should been sacked for lying to everyone even before the penalties were handed to us.

Serious question... Do you think Trigg has an ulterior motive? The reason I say that is a crow poster mentioned that Trigg and Rendell didnt get along with each other because Rendell is a Yes man. It seems Trigg, Just like Demitriou would want his buddies on the board rather than people that can help the club.

The Adelaide media wont turn on him, Rowey is deluded and thinks Trigg is the Steve Jobs of the football world while on the other end of the spectrum Rucci knows full well that Trigg is incompetent, but will never publicly say it because having an incompetent CEO like Trigg running the Crows is exactly what he wants as t's giving Port a leg-up.
Sounds about right... Rucci only writes 2 types of articles, 1 is about bashing the crows and the other is praising port.

Story? It's not a story, it's a bloody legend!;)

Nonsense. That was Noble.

EDIT - Not to mention Tex Walker was recruited by Fantasia as part of the NSW scholarship system. That genius Rendell never thought he was any good - same with Tippett.
We wont know for a couple of years but im hoping its less about Rendall and more about the guys we have out in the field scouting players.

This isn't quite right. Rucci was heavy into port bashing well before the end of the primus years. Whilst he would whack primus, he would also give it to the club for not providing enough support to primus. Regarding us, he's only recently taken aim at sando, while glossing over the sins of our admin. He's started getting a bit more involved in that, but he had to be pushed ie enough groundswell from the public. Prior to that he trivialised the supporter base with similar views in this thread by referring to 'tippett curses', 'only blaming trigg after losses' and the like. He might as well have referred to us as pathetic agitators. Having thought about it, he's probably only dipped his toe into the 'anti-admin' waters after hearing that some ex-players and perhaps meaningful supporters are starting to run with similar concerns.

Unlike most, I don't actually mind him. He gave it to port when they were shit and he's getting on board with giving it to us. And if you want to hear anything other than the typical rubbish from the rest of the sa crows ambassador media, then he's basically all you've got. But you do have to ignore a bit of what he writes/says.

I know for a fact Rucci was told to tone it down when he went after Craig. Whilst he was ultimately proven to be correct and getting rid of Craig was the right course of action for the club, many Crowies couldn't handle the criticism of the club and still haven't forgiven him. Those in charge at News Ltd quickly worked out that pissing off Crows supporters was bad for business. Sure he trolls the Crows now, but it is far more subtle.

Been an issue for a long, long, long, loooooooooooooooong time.....well before Tippet-gate and the Rendell saga. Trigg is out there supporting Trigg....and Trigg's bank balance....and Trigg's "upstanding public reputation". Cut and dried.

Unfortunately, don't know much about it. But will try to have a read.

When you say "crowies", who are you talking about? It would have made sense if you were talking about AFC employees, but then you mention supporters, as in us. This made you look silly because, like now, it was the supporters eventually forcing change on the employees of our club. It takes a long time because there is no inclusive, democratic structure in place and they want to keep their snouts in the trough. We basically have to white ant them until their position becomes untenable. Pretending we can't take criticism when its warranted is therefore ridiculous. As in, deserving of and eliciting ridicule. Make no mistake, we are our harshest critics when we can see standards not being met.

This is why we've never been on our knees as a club and never will be.

Yeah, the story goes that we weren't sure initially, Collingwood (and some other club from memory) offered him a scholarship and he rung us to say that if we didn't offer one now he would take the other options on the table.

Then when Rendell came to the club he didn't think much of Walker (would have been 15-16 at the time) and advocated taking him off the list, only deciding to keep him there when he realised it wouldn't cost us any money to do so.

Obviously by his draft year they were pretty confident he would be a decent player because he had a great season including some strong from in the championships, or TAC Cup, or something.

Basically Rooch bashes which ever team is going poorly at the time and praises the other team. That is what sells newspapers.

far more subtle -"Are Crows supporters jealous of Port" . His impartiality makes him one of the least credible journalists in Australia.

Well I rechecked my source and they are adamant that the "coup" is happening. Apparently Chapman was approached and refused to step down, which is why we have had the comments in the media and the delay in the constitution.

Whilst my source is fairly solid im suprised I havent heard it from someone else..

Has anyone got any other info?

But how?

He doesn't have to stand down or their is no where in the constitution that stipulates anyone else can demand he does or call an election by looking for a spill of the board.

Nowhere in the constitution does it say someone can propose a vote of no confidence and have the chairman or the board overturned.

He doesn't have to stand down and now we hold the licence - no one can make him.

That leads me to ask - how are they going to create this 'coup'?

I don't know about that Alex, sponsors, members and supporters in general hold a lot of power. If a rival group could garner enough support from those areas it could force the current board into a tough position, perhaps enough at least to have a constitution that allows for significant change at the top level.

Maybe but if the current board survived the Tippett sage without the sponsors giving a shit to say something - why would they now.

That's the bit I don't understand either. I assume there has to be board members involved?

Or they are planning for something at the AGM?

So many questions but too few answers.

Look, I hope you are correct as we really need to rejuvenate the club on and off the park and the easiest and quickest way to do that is to change the chairman/CEO or the coach.

The coach isn't going to be moved on and that only leaves the board.
Looks like another 2:45 PM AGM this year to avoid the agitators.
