Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

Don't go down that path, I've been to many Poort games and that's a fallacy that is baselss.

I've been there when they are losing and you can hear a pin drop
I hope all of the people who say this garbage about port supporters being louder and supporting all the time blah blah are watching the game today.. I have no idea how this can be said after watching some of their games over the years.. Their supporters keep putting it out there due to their insecurity and some people actually eat it up..
This myth makes me laugh every time I see it posted..

That's the one good thing, sort of, someone at our club grew a pair and told them to get stuffed. I like that, but I don't like that we made a deal and then broke it - luckily, I believe the intent was to get him back to QLD, and when he said Sydney, all bets were off.

Unfortunately we can't even take comfort in someone at the AFC growing a pair. We actually tried to get the Sydney second rounder and Jessie white trade through, it wasn't until ken wood at the afl stopped the trade as it was too lobside to Sydney. Harper, Trigg and co tried to screw the club over instead of coming clean. So that makes a mockery of Trigg doing "what was best for the club". He tried to cover his own arse all the way through with no regard for the consequences to the AFC.

I'm here at AAMI and to say you can hear a pin drop especially in the last quarter is an understatement.

I'm here at AAMI and to say you can hear a pin drop especially in the last quarter is an understatement.

And we also know from this post that their are not many people their as gaining wi if with any more than 10,000 people t AAMI is impossible.

Is anyone else playing "name the ex Crows" tonight? It's becoming a popular pastime no matter which game you're watching.

I've got Armstrong, Mattner and Gunston tonight. Anyone I've missed?

Jon Griffin in the other game... Shame he did his knee... :(

I'd suggest people are doing Keith Thomas a disservice by putting Kochies name anywhere to do with the re-birth of Port.

the SANFL and AFL should be thanked as well.

Handouts off the field, and on the field too, let's not forget the AFL handouts to reward Port's mediocrity: SIX 6! top 9 draft picks on their current list alone plus a free bonus pick used to pick up Brad Ebert.
Hell, if we were given half of those, we would have an unbeatable team.

40,000 members and skiing downhill on a smooth slope - and they still only get 25,000 to a game on a good weather day.

I don't want to hear ANYONE use the "but Port can do it" in the argument that you can consistently win games buy playing LARGE numbers of rookies in their side. I think the General is about to set in and young bodies are getting weary. This myth has been busted in the last two weeks and I doubt the two teams (Norf & 9thmond) are going to make the top 4 this year.

Lets be fair, those draft picks aren't hand outs.

Sorry - was referring to Trigg allegedly canceling the deal when he found out about it... If you believe that.

Keep in mind too that the 40,000 includes the 3,500 Magpies season tickets. Even with that being the case there was still about 12,000 no-shows yesterday maybe more when when you factor in that there were heaps of Richmond supporters there yesterday

What are they then? The best draft picks are given as a reward to the worst performed sides .... just an "euphemism" for "handouts"

Whatever you want to call them, my point remains.

I said it elsewhere, give me a 70 metre headstart as a reward for my mediocrity and even i would beat Usain Bolt in a 100 metre race.

You are very correct with that metaphor but you should be expected to improve. The onus has to be returned to the AFL sometime to force them (clubs) to show improvement and stop relying on those draft picks.

As long as the AFL keep that system in place, you can not blame (unless you actually support that club and want them to improve and win) the club for accepting them.

Nah not really.

Handouts to me are things over & above what everyone gets

Just watching the Ian Robson press conference - class act. Think we could do worse than appoint him to take over from Trigg.

I hope you are not serious. You have to remember why he is stepping down.

I read somewhere that only 13,000 of them are 11 game seasoned ticket holders.

Same for us. We will probably get 50,000 members this year but only 35-37k of them would be seasoned ticket holders. Last time I saw the stats the Pies, Us and West Coast were the top 3 in terms of season ticket holders. That was a couple of years ago so it could have changed.

I do remember - some people several levels down from him in the football department went off the reservation and acted irresponsibly...now he's taking the fall. You do recall what our CEO actually did/orchestrated himself?

That's rubbing salt into the wounds don't you think?

You are pretty gullible if you believe that
