Glad to hear Jake is happier and eating well at home. From what I hear the Tex burgers in Adelaide now come extra salty.
I didn’t see any bothered Crows posters when their club leveraged the go home factor, with Sam Jacobs threatening to walk to the PSD unless Carlton accept the Crows’ lowball offer. At least the Crows got a healthy return from both player and trade.
The Crows took Gunston's Best Young Player award off him once they found out he was levering.

Can’t begrudge him that. Who wouldn’t jump at the chance?
I'm not sure how he can possibly know that the move has been good for his football. It might end up that way, but he hasn't played even a trial game since the move. But who could really knock a kid returning home with an extra $350k or so in the pay packet. We got good service out of him over the 3 years and really good compensation from Melbourne. Overall a win for us. People forget that on votes per game he was 9th in our b&f last year whilst Talia and Hartigan were both around the 18th region.

If someone offered you an extra 350k a year to do the same job but be closer to your friends and family then every single one of you would take it in a second. Grow up and understand loyalty to a football club isn't part of everyone's DNA.
I'd like to think that was a decision peculiar to the Trigg/Noble regime. Would have been a fairly hollow feeling for Talia when a accepting an award that didn't belong to him.
Gunston sent his manager into the club (where the Crows though he was re-signing) to tell Adelaide that 'Jack has gone back to Melbourne, he is not coming back - Trade to Hawthorn please'
Gunston was never intending to go to the B&F if he wasn't ever going back there

Not exactly equal when two thirds of footballers come from one state though. If only there was some system to negate the impact this, maybe an academy of some sort...
That's a cop out. What if he was about to re-sign but was in Melbourne attending a funeral, is he still stripped of the award?
