I know some dont like these threads so early but the extended squad for the North game must raise serious doubts that Moore is any plans of Longmire this season. The contract we think is also up at the end of this season.

He's reputedly in good form in the 2nds if not outstanding and a game in the wet suits his game demeanor perfectly. But instead we see a new recruit and rookie in front of him.

There is no doubting his endeavor, courage, physical presence and football IQ.

There are however a lot of questions about his skill, pace and endurance.

Can anyone see Moore getting a chance?

To me he offers something that we already have plenty of. Grunt and leadership. Those are great qualities, but he doesn't have a skillset that makes him stand out from those already in the best 22.

The emergence of Bird as a consistent performer has hurt Moore's chances imo, neither of them are quick but both provide grunt and are capable of chipping in with a goal or two. Bird is doing this better than Moore can and doesn't look like dropping off.

He's a top mentor for the reserves but he deserves more than that, it just doesn't look like he'll play many more senior games for the Swans. He'd be the perfect older head for a side like GWS or even the Demons, not sure why neither of those sides didn't chase him.

95% gone. I'll give him 5% at most chance of staying because he is in the leadership group, so the club do seem to value something about him. I'd be shocked if he is on the list next year.

He'll be a coach next year, for all intents and purposes he's a playing coach for the reserves with the amount ot organising and talking he does out there.

If indeed he gets the chop at the end of the year and he doesn't get a gig elsewhere, I wouldn't be surprised to see the club offer him something in the way of coaching or mentoring in order to stick around. He obviously might not want to and would rather play full time in another league, but he clearly has a footy mind and leadership qualities that are rated by the club. It'd be strange for someone so young to go down that route but not unheard of (Max Rooke, Matthew Egan, although they were extenuating circumstances behind them going into coaching).

Having said all that, GWS wouldn't go far wrong giving him a go.

Are his skills really that bad? I think the only things holding him back are his physical attributes.

He's gone as a player though IMO.

It was his skills and footy brain that seemed to get him by under Roos. He was happy to sacrifice a bit of pace/endurance for the intangibles that Moore brought.

Unfortunately for him, the game quickening, the sub rule being introduced and young/quicker players coming into the club have all conspired to make him redundant to our best 22.

Exactly, Good mark, reliable kick, good hands under pressure, great vision. If only he was a bit taller or a bit faster he'd be in our best 22.

There not horridly bad but there’s nothing remarkably good about them either. I think as he fatigues his kicking efficiency drops off. He’s certainly missed a couple of telling shots during his career.

But if your only going to touch the ball a limited number of times a match you need to be a very good user of the ball like Brisbane’s Josh Drummond.

After saying this though I’d like to see him get a change around the forward pocket area, A smart small who can find space and be effective physically can only enhance the team. Still hoping he gets that shot.

No, but I cannot fathom why not.

I was certain towards the end of last year that he had already played his last Senior game.

I disagree.

I've always thought he was an extremely good organiser when playing in the forward area. Reads they play better than most of our forwards and always giving directions that helped the cause.

But don't we have that already?

But don't we have that already?

I think a large part of our forward woes are due to having an unsettled\constantly changing lineup which leads to confusion and forwards leading into other forwards space far too often.

I think we lack of a calm head\direction in the F50.

Just my thoughts mind you.
Be interested to know who you think is that voice of reason up front for us ATM.

Future as a stand in for Peter Dinklage on the set of Game Of Thrones (I'll never get over how Harbrow carved him up in the 2010 elimination final).

No..to slow, 1 dimensional, to easily exposed going out of our fwd 50.
Don't get why TDL doesn't get a crack, my belief is that we still way to predictable up forward and in definate need for variety, Moore is not it,
TDL, Lamb if he comes on, perhaps even give Morton a roll just to see how he responds.

No .... after what we have seen in the first few games, just let him go somewhere else, even mitch morton would be better than him
