Seems that the fat cat ASADA bureaucrats are too busy settling into their new office to be bothered resolving someones livelihood or mental health in a timely manner.
The realisation that ASADA is run by Senator Richard Colbeck, the same numpty Federal Government Minister that is also responsiblefor the aged care.
Anyone who has witnessed his public displays in the last week could rightly say any department run by him would be a basket case.

Willies case would stand a better chance of getting a hearing in a Victorian aged care home.

The process has been long and tedious for many years through governments of both persuasions.

Wondering what's more likely to come first; a vaccine for Covid or Willie's punishment.

The footy boss also provided a brief update regarding premiership forward Willie Rioli, revealing that West Coast’s legal team was in the process of preparing documentation for a hearing.

However, he said the club was yet to be advised when that hearing might be.

“We’re expecting that there’ll be a hearing later in the year and we are just working through the pre-hearing document side of things where you lodge the appropriate position and response,” he said.

“QC David Grace is handling that for us and for Willie. They are just in the middle of that paper trail and hopefully we’ll have a hearing date later in the year.”

Might be a cynical viewpoint but the delays in Rioli's case may have been an example of "out of sight, out of mind".

I can't help but think that if instead of quietly biding his time in a remote northern town, he had a regular media gig on a Melbourne radio station or something of that ilk, that his case may have progressed more quickly.

I can’t agree. Almost every WADA/ASDA case has taken 12 months before they have released the findings.

What happens if the case is heard and it's a not guilty verdict? Given the time involved in hearing the case, I'd imagine Willie would be owed a large sum in compo of some sort.*

* He won't be found not guilty, but the same question could apply to any potential case.

If there was a chance he isnt guilty, they would have pushed harder for a quick hearing, or even looked into allowing him to play before his suspension is handed down (ie, innocent before being proven guilty). In reality its just about the length of the verdict, and given he was always going to get at least a year suspension, they just decided to sit this year out.
