Gavin Bell talking to Duffield on SEN just now confirming that Harry Taylor is indeed joining the club

It’s a part time consultant role (couple of days a week) working with football department staff on their leadership and development

Won’t lie, sounds like a bit of a wanky role but just having him in and around the club can only be a good thing

Yeah far out, I thought the player in picture was selwood haha. Harry Taylor's hair was lighter than I remembered.

Don’t mind it if it’s a wanky role, might be a good way to blur the support staff budget.
Taylor is a physiotherapist and having seen the inside working of one of the Leagues best run Clubs, from both a player and a medical perspective would be a plus IMO.

As you say having such a good role model around the Club can only be a positive.

Sounds like what Gotchin is doing with Brisbane. Great idea! Can only be for the better.

Yes! Stoked with this, have been hoping we'd be able to get him on board since he retired. I wonder if he has any coaching ambitions? Perhaps the first step on the way to being a defensive development coach or even line coach.

And Harry has the benefit of also being a genuinely good bloke unlike the other guy now at Brisbane

Feels less wanky that Tim Gepp. Hopefully Bell has a free hand to get rid of the debris that was protected by King Nessie I

Sounds like we sounded out Pyke for the CEO role a few years ago but he still had a coaching itch to scratch so we then extended Nizzys contract. Pyke became interested in the position and rather than lose him they had the conversation with Nizzy about wrapping up.

I'm taking this from the Murray McHenry interview with Duff last week.

This is not like the reign of power of King Nisbett the first.

Pyke doesn't have the power (yet) to make these decisions on his own.
Gavin doesn't either.

A lot of the back of house pieces are now on the board, now it's time for things to settle, take shape and assess over time.

Don Pyke - Sydney & Adelaide
Matt Inness - Bulldogs
Paul Turk - Collingwood
Daisy Pearce - Geelong/Melbourne
Kieran Jack - Sydney
Matt Clarke - Richmond
Harry Taylor - Geelong

That is a lot of IP from some of the best run clubs in the game, all added in this off-season.

Most of these people are also quite humble and happy to leave their ego at the door. We really need to see how the off field settles as whilst it looks amazing on paper, if it doesn't gel into a cohesive whole it doesn't work.

It’s gone under the radar a bit, possibly because there’s been no recognition of it by the club publicly, but Nisbett is officially out the door having completed the 2 month handover to Pyke as CEO

Kinda strange the club hasn’t acknowledged it at all for whatever reason given his years of service

In any case it does mark a new era in the history of the club. Seven grand finals and 4 flags whilst Nisbett was there is one hell of an act to follow

Well he did have a big party a week ago for him at Subi oval.

I heard he got a 14 minute standing ovation and a bunch of 75 year old members banged out the club song 3 times in a row. Wasn't a dry eye in the room apparently.
