We've shown the AFL we are willing to deal with a third club to help facilitate the deal so if Sydney turn it down we are well within our rights to use the pre season draft with out any blow back from them

It's Called the NSW Academy Zone ......biggest lift up GWS, SYD, BRIS, and GC can getDid Cal have a brain fade this morning?
He was saying about how Sydney are at a disadvantage because they do not benefit from platers requesting trades back home like Vic, SA and WA sides do.
He of all people should be aware Sydney and GWS get access to a lot of these kids before they even leave, they don't have to try and work out trades.
Really bizarre comment, I'm sure he just wasn't thinking
(Maybe there was more to it, only heard the end of the conversation)
I actually wish we do get Pick 17 regardless. It may not even be a power move. We aren't the only ones angling for the Bulldogs pick 17, we now go back to Bulldogs and say the Swans turned it down and the Bulldogs go "OK, we'll move on to the next team on our list" and the possibility of getting the pick goes up in smoke.
And as Adam Kelly learnt last year, this is why you don't make comments that box yourself into a corner.FMD
This post summarizes the collective stupidity on the Sydney board.
"We look silly if we accept because we have acted tough by saying we Want a top 5 etc etc"
Past - Jordan "I don’t think Sydney fans should be nervous at all" Dawson: Grand Theft Completed, traded 2021 to Adelaide
Are we over-egging the Campbell pudding a little? People talking him up like he’s a bona fide star. He’s played eight games so far. Don't worry. If he has 8 bad games, he'll be deemed a bust and people will want him traded.www.bigfooty.com
Unless the player we want at 4 is going to be there at 7, we shouldnt be doing any deal involving our Pick 4.If the deal with the dogs falls through, what are peoples thoughts on trading pick 4 to the Tigers for 7 and 15. And then trading pick 15 to Swans for Dawson. Then we would go into the draft with pick 7, 23, 37 and 44
I am assuming the swap with the Bulldogs would wipe out 23, and 37 (maybe even 44?). So this way we get to keep all of our other picks as well as adding Dawson.
The downgrade from 4 to 7 is not ideal, but as has been mentioned many times the pool is quite even after the top 2 and the F/S selections.
Hopefully we haveHopefully you have also given them an ultimatum.
Would that mean we can’t renegotiate though?PSD
Jordy nominates 1 year / $1m dollar contract so North knows Jordy will again request a trade at end if 2022

Clearly. Now we are offering pick 17?Yes you needed to watch swans games.
I find it a little hard to believe Sydney would knock back 17. Maybe some haggling over secondary picks but surely they aren't that stupid.Think I will err on the side of caution with these Journo’s commentary
Could be far from negotiation truths
Yeah we arePossibly because Hamish likes 2 players he thinks will be available with 23 and 37 more than 1 player he sees as available at 17....We are rebuilding still?
Crouch and Dawson are completely two different arguments.Sydney board are going through the same thing we did last year with Crouch, the club coming out saying we are expecting a top pick, then realising there is literally no way, have to accept what they get and walk away with egg on their face and an angry supporter
More so in speaking tough and backing yourself into a corner where you come out looking silly.Crouch and Dawson are completely two different arguments.
Not even in the same ballpark of discussion.
ExactlyMore so in speaking tough and backing yourself into a corner where you come out looking silly.
Not the actual trade situations.
Shouldn't be doing it regardlessUnless the player we want at 4 is going to be there at 7, we shouldnt be doing any deal involving our Pick 4.
