What a shame for eagles fans, a crushing end to their weekend. Although I'm a bit worried about what they might get for him - assuming Cuz stays (perhaps what prompted his departure?) its not like they're short of midfielders - admittedly there aren't too many Chris Judd's around, but it gives them a chance to boost other areas more in need.

I'm just surprised I'm the first to post it on the Freo board.

err its got nothing to do with Freo?

gotta feel for them, i'd be devistated if Pav left, but he didn't :D

Apparently his groin problem is quite serious, so it could be a blessing in disguise if he isn't going to get back to his best. Seems like Harry Kewell has been out for years with a similar injury.

Collingwood will probably be his preference because they are already a finals contender, but I can't see what they could offer. Fevola + pick 3 (which will give them the choice of Morton/Masten/Palmer) + pick 20 will probably be offered by Carlton, who will have plenty of space under the salary cap without Kouta, Lappin and Fev.

Judd going home could make it harder for us to do a deal for Murphy since there will be so much focus elsewhere.

Are you, as Freo fans;

A) Saddened that you won't get to see him play regularly, and have him in Western Australia,
B) Happy that we lose him, or
C) Really don't give a shit.

It's a pain in the arse because they will get a top 5 pick and will be guaranteed to take a midfielder now, particularly if they get someone like Fevola

I reckon we'll still be going after talls even if we get Fev.

A) Don't like the lack of loyalty in he AFL at the moment.
B) We now wont get either Palmer or Masten.

A) We don't get to see him play regularly anyway due to our shitty stadium. If we had a 60,000+ stadium I'd probably go to 4 or 5 west coast games a year, where as a "neutral" you are able to appreciate players more. If he has a good game in a derby it just makes me angry.

B) Yes, but I expect you to get a reasonable deal. It probably means that your window closes sooner which is a positive for Freo. Any side with Chris Judd will expect to win finals, where as without Judd and with Cousins and Braun turning 30 you'll need the young blokes to come on quickly. With Embley being injury prone it puts a lot of focus on Kerr. He's the one who will miss Judd because he is bound to get Rawlings/Baker/Cornes.

C) Really looking forward to work tomorrow.;)

It's not going to make a difference to the Victorian media and the local stooges aren't going to focus on a bloke living thousands of miles away.

I wonder how often he will be on the Footy Show if Collingwood get him somehow.

The thing with Judd is whoever gets him will pay a small fortune but they will make that up quite quickly. Because with Judd it brings members, more people to the games, merchandise sales sky rocket etc.

I am certain West Coast will be a better team after this trade, which pisses me off.

Yeah...for sure. The way I see it, Judd is never going to be the same again, even after surgery. It could be a blessing in disguise for them.

Not necessarily, especially in the short term. If he goes to Melbourrne or Collingwood who do they have that the eagles would want that they'd be willing to part with? They'd have to send a couple of players to other clubs then trade 4 or 5 picks to West Coast.

Just heard Kim "eagle pants" Hagdorn on 6PR admit that he believes the decision was at least partly based on the behaviour problems at the West Coast.

I was saying from start of season that a bloke with that much integrity would not want to stay at a club that took no credible stance against their cultural meltdown.

Sort of restores faith that some players hold integrity that high. Hope he can recover from that injury and be a superstar again.:thumbsu:

I had a heap of respect for Pavlich for the loyalty he showed your club in staying but today that respect has gone up a notch!

It's disappointing that Chris has decided to head back home but that's his prerogative.

I don't give a shit.. not my club's business

.. however this thread seemingly is geared this way so my 2 cents is that the eagles are unloading an injury problem [ same injury that ****ed up Harry Kewell's career... a groin in which ne has never fully recovered and is compounded by other injuries..].
They'll get a high draft pick and a decent player ya'd think.... How about Russell Robertson.. Hate to see him at the slime but he is fantastic to watch..... and a decent foward to pulls down speccies left right and centre...
