As for Martin, I'll be genuinely shocked if he's promoted this week, I just think they had their chance the last few weeks and didn't pull the trigger, what's changed? Nothing really. In fact if anything the need for a half forward is even less this week with Elliott and Reid likely to return.
What's changed?
I'll start with:
- one win in 6 games.
- A slaughtering at the hands of the bombers.
- Poor performances from 17 of the 21 players in the most recent match.
- Martin played magnificently in his most recent VFL match.
- Martin can kick goals.
- Collingwood AFL side cannot kick goals.
- Martin is flexible and can play half-forward and mid.
- Martin would at least try as compared to the other 17 players referred to earlier.
- Rewarding good (nay, great) form and disenriching poor form.
- A change for the sake of change might just work.
Is that not enough reason?
