Cover system is out. :thumbsu:

excellent!

there's a cover system in quantum of solace multiplayer and it actually works extremely well

but for a game i expect to take pretty damn seriously as far as playing time is concerned i'd prefer it to be out

also the fact you can't go prone is pretty ghey

i mean i only ever go prone in quick tactical maneuvers but it's very handy to have and i don't understand why/how it wasn't implemented

IGN AU
We played several games hosted in Europe over a standard ADSL2+ connection and experienced little to no lag, which is excellent. There were also options to limit your game selections to your local region, which should please Aussies frustrated with a lack of local sorting in other multiplayer games. Sadly, we're not going to see vehicles in multiplayer from day one; there's a promise of a content patch coming, though, that should add these – as well as two-player co-op – before too long. Let's hope that's not just a hollow promise.

yeh i read that the other day i think

so awesome and the way it should be! (re...finding games without lag)

also regarding vehicles....i absolutely hope with everything i have that vehicles is a selection possibility and not standard in certain maps.

i cannot stand vehicles in my fps'ers so having it as an option only once the patch comes would be great!

i mean i'd def play with vehicles as an option every now and again for sure but i hate going into a level knowing that it will have vehicles in it

i know ppl love 'em but not me.

Agreed, I feel vechiles in CoD 5 just don't work, hopefully the co-op ands up coming as well.

I don't understand why people make such a big deal about campaigns.

I usually put the difficulty on easy and rush through it as fast as I can. It gives me a feel of all the weapons, controls and just general gameplay before I spend the rest of my time online.

I can only play campaigns once and then I can never do it again.

Anyone know how big the filesize for the demo is going to be?
Gotta make sure I stay under my cap. ;)

i'm with you...but i just play it on normal....playing on easy is almost no point i feel...

and ever since trophies i try and make sure i get a few of them which prolongs the campaign a bit but i don't try for all...i won't replay the campaign but i live for the multiplayer ohhhh yeh

Back in the old days, Multiplayer was a rare thing so we had to enjoy single player which I just happened to grow up with. As for the current generation of gaming, I am more than happy with Multiplayer, I play it a lot in Resistance 2 but there's always got to be a single player I can appreciate and according to the reviews I've read and watched, the A.I seems to have a lot of spews to say and when you think about it, it really is just a boring Military story in struggle (Same with Resistance 2) which isn't really my type of thing though I can always enjoy the gameplay... as long as it's good.

Oookk, Vehicles not in Multiplayer? Now this game is starting to go straight to R2's formula. I'm not getting this game unless vehicles are CONFIRMED to be in Multiplayer. I've played R2 enough and I want some FPS Vehicular manpower and a cover system... Oh, and some Co-Op would definitely be nice.

I'm going to d/l it because i'm impatient and want a taste of it already.
x2, unless it is over 1GB(For a few reasons), which it most likely will be, so it basically means I won't be getting it.:p
I'm not sure if I want this game. I mean the story is just a typical Alien Invaders FPS
There aren't any aliens mate.

I am going to take that with a grain of salt TBH, I don't think co-op will be in either at all, or at least not for a very long time.

GG came out and said a little while ago that co-op was near impossible because it basically would break the game, I'll have a go and see if I can get the proper quote, but the gist of it was that it wouldn't be able to work as the game is as maxed out as they can make it right now.

However if it is to come in then big :thumbsu::thumbsu:.

From what I have seen of the multiplayer maps, vehicles won't be a super power even if they are brought in, if you look at the map designs there are alot of high-rise type settings, and I'd expect that it would be a turn offable option if it comes in as a patch.

In regards to my feelings about vehicles, I have only played a few multiplayers with them, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, loved vehicles in Warhawk, didn't like it in Battlefield:BC, although the option to have them can't hurt.

Yeah I know there aren't aliens but it's loosly based on them, the Helghast I mean and the first Killzone was meant to be a Halo killer.

Also, I happen to love and adore vehicles in Shooters. Sure, sometimes I could do without them but playing a CTF without vehicles and only having your feet to move is boring as hell. Warhawk made everything fun to an extreme level though due to everything being balanced. Regardless, if Killzone 2 doesn't have vehicular man-power in Multiplayer or even a cover system then I feel no need to get it, I get a feeling it'll feel too much like Resistance 2, just more surreal with different weapons.

Especially racing games!

In all seriousness, I disagree to a certain extent. They can add so much more to the game when they are present in small doses.

Don't like it then don't play it. Don't complain either.

Vehicles are shit in MP games.

Depends on the game Kerbs.

Is KZ2 8 on 8 gameplay? If so vehicles are generally pooh unless say in a CTF gametype on a large map (That goes for all FPS games).

I'm 99% positive that KZ2 is 16 v 16.

As HBK said, a lot of the levels I've seen have open buildings, so vehicles pretty much become pointless.

Maybe they can add those flying platforms they show in the opening cinematic when they invade Helghan? It could work quite nicely. One person can drive the platform and then you can have 4 guys shooting out of it behind you into windows.

That seems more like Transportation. Regardless, I refuse to get the game unless Vehicles are in, I have played Resistance 2 just so much that vehicles are sort of a must have now and I didn't get enough time to play Warhawk because I got Fallout 3 afterwoods.

By the way, Kerrby, that's your opinion. CTF, one of my favorite modes, sucks in R2 and I'm just stating I don't plan on getting the game if I have to deliver the flag on foot, just an opinion here.

Depends on the game, you just have to make it balanced. ie, easy to take a vehicle down

Warthogs rock

I got the message. I'm giving it a try. Hopefully, I'll be convinced it's very different from Resistance 2... along with convincing me to take the chance of buying the game in hope there will be vehicular manpower.

Well I guess it will come as no surprise to anyone, but I LOVED IT!

The demo was fantastic, it starts with the infamous E3 2005 scene we've all seen over and over again as you crash land from your drop ship type vehicle, and your put into action straight away, this was my first real "WOW" moment, as, as soon as your off the drop-ship your into action, but it feels like your still in a cut-scene, it's a surreal moment, the first thing you notice getting off the drop-ship is the heaviness of your player, you don't move swiftly or light of foot, your quite heavy on your feet, it really gives a sense that you are in this battle, your wearing the armour, your carrying this gun.

If you're afraid that the heaviness of your player will be off putting throughout the game you will soon learn that you ease into it very quickly, and moving from battle to battle there isn't any real need to be moving at a quick pace anyway, don't know what effect it could have on mutiplayer but you do easily get used to the player movement once your in.

So what is there to talk about, the graphics, well just absolutely stunning and easily surpasses what I actually thought they would be, the detail, the lighting, the textures, the blood, everything is just absolutely superbly created and no matter who you are you really have to give kudos to GG for actually bringing that E3 trailer to life and making it playable.

Overall the gameplay was fun, but was hard to get a real grasp first time around, I have only played it once so far and will have a few more goes later tonight just to get a proper feel of the demo, although I will mention the shooting is quite good, the guns feel really powerful and are nice and accurate(Also you can get a Rocket Launcher in the demo, one which I didn't find on my first run around, so be on the lookout).

Some other nice little touches that I really thought were quite cool, the first loading screen you get before launching you into the campaign has this holographic type 3D screen which you can move around with your SIXAXIS control, it is quite neatly done and looks pretty cool, and you forget that anything is loading at all.

The menu's as well, now this is either going to be something people dislike or love, but the menu's sort of jump and jerk around in an old scratchy TV way when your selecting stuff on the menu, it gives you a good feel that your in an Army waiting bay or something and your selecting this as if your actually there, or at least that is the feeling I got.

So overall, the demo was very exciting and the agonising wait continues until Feb. 26.
