I think its interesting that virtually every player on the list is on the trade table on this forum bar maybe 3. With the amount of injury/suspension that we've had this year we will have a virtually new look team anyway. I don't see any merit in talking about trading any Top 25 player on the list. If we bring in anyone who is mature age it should be a direct replacement for one of Stewart, Mitchell, Colquhoon or Schulz and possibly O'Shea who I wouldn't expect to be on the list next year.

nah, we won't.

Monfries, White and Jonas are in the last 5 picked. Schulz, Carlile and Lobbe either aren't best 22 or certainly won't be next year.

Hombsch is a jet but he played for the first 10 weeks when we were terrible

Ryder. cool, every club gets one player back from a long term injury they didn't have last year. we are probably slightly ahead.

did i miss anyone?

We're not losing because of our best 15 players we are losing because of the poor disposal of the players 15-38 on the list and a lot of those players were playing this year. I would argue that Carlile, White, Jonas, Monfries, Ryder, Hombsch, Hammer were all first 22 when they were injured and I don't see anyone except Byrne-Jones who have improved so much that demands a spot in the first 22. Our results this year prove it.

You are probably right, at the start of 2017 schulz, carlile , lobbe , jonas wont be in the 22 and white/gus will be borderline. The thing is, at the end of 2015 when we were planning for 2016 all of them were. This year was cooked.

oh yes, yes we are. Boak, Wingard, Hartlett, Westhoff, Polec have all produced poor years. Austin, Clurey, DBJ, Impey, Amon, Youngy have battled so manfully considering their base in 2015.

As for disposal thats a club wide problem. Boak, Wines, Hartlett, Wingard have had some terrible ball use.

Dermott on the coverage tonight talking about Sam Gray suggested a few Melbourne based clubs were interested in him.

Probably means his agent is mates w/Derm

I would only let one of Arch or Sam Gray be traded otherwise we'll be left with bugger all depth.

The problem is the last few years has shown us we have too many players that show up when they want to. Especially against weaker sides and not the top sides.

The likes of Hartlett, Broadbent, Westhoff to name a few so we need to remove the inconsistent less competitive types and insert beast who want to compete to win.

I don't doubt all our players are cult Herod and good guys. If we we don't switch and mix it up we are going to get the same results.

Surely people don't want to same results for another 10 years?

Fair point and if we could better our team by doing a deal with those players I'd be for it as long as it does make us better because they are players who are best 22

gold coast defintiely got the better achee. i think brendons best value is as insurance up there next to his brother.

His family are mad Port through and through, even moved their business here to support and be with their three lads. I can't see him wanting to go anywhere.

1. A bottom 4 team doesn't need depth
2. Arch will be delisted or re-signed for a year, we can't get anything decent in a trade for him.
3. Sam Gray is 24 and one of our only performing players, we'd get unders in a trade, so there wouldn't be much point.

Schulz gone :( Will be exits for a few more..I guess it will include O'Shea, Stewart, Jonas., Mitchell :( , Carlile (if he decides to hang up the boots) and possibly AhChee. I wonder if there will be any offers for Broady, Lobbe and Hartlett and if the club will consider trading them out for picks. KT said 6-10 changes and interesting for him to say Ken and Cripps at odds (one wanting to trade in, one wanting to draft in)

Don't forget Butcher, it looks like he's almost certainly gone as well.

Schulz, Mitchell, Colquhoun, Stewart - def gone.

Butcher, AhChee, Carlile questionable.

O'Shea highly unlikely to go.

Plus a krak upgrade,

Cant see much other movement coming. Thats only 4-7 changes. That'd be what we should expect.

Hartlett would have to agree to a trade. He's got a long contract, on good money and in his home state. Seriously doubt he's going anywhere.

I personally think we need to start playing Hartlett in the centre square. Make use of that big body of his to help Wines out and allow Robbie Gray to push forward.
