My gut feel is that we won't be trading Lobbe and that we will be playing a Dixon/Ryder forward combination next year.

Lobbe cops a lot of flack but he would be a serviceable ruckman if he can regain that hunger for the contest at ground level that he had in 2014 where he lead the club for tackles and his clearance and contested ball work was good. I am yet to be convinced he can though.

I just hope to god that we trade in another big bodied KPF through free agency.

Betts was already one of the better small forwards, kicked 50 while at Carlton one year. Adelaide's current high attacking gameplan is assisting him to kick more goals, but yes he is also one of the rare cases who has seen an improvement.

Also, not surprised that you are the one to bring up a crows player in the discussion.
Actually mate, I brought his name up as he is the only player I could think of at that age who improved further in his new club. Which was the question posed by the original poster. Your last comment was dumb. You are most welcome to put me on ignore but I will put up a Crows players name whenever I like if I feel it is appropriate thank you very much.

If Lobbe can regain his hunger and recoup that 2014 form then having him do the bulk ofthe ruck, and ryder / dixon in the forward lines sounds awesome (with ryder as second ruck). the big iF is whether lobbe is capable. one month ago i would have said no ****ing way....but ive actually been a bit encouraged by lobbe's last few weeks. He hasnt been great, but its the best he has been for a few years

Sorry mate, but when 80% of your posts involve the crows its easy to get skeptical.

There would be quite a few on here with high number of such posts mate. Ignore button, it's easy just click, just don't call me out on a post where I was answering a specific question with an answer and it just happened to be Eddie.

Sad to see Schulz go but it was inevitable. The club knew it last year.

Onya Sarge.

does this mean Butcher survives again? He is like a cat with 9 lives.
If Schulz has retired and Butcher says then the club has made the right decision as apposed to giving Schulz 1 more year and delisting Butch.

But now with Doogie injured we must trade in a youngish forward/ruck on the cheap. Vickery is not the answer.

Unless the question is: Who do we never want in a Port top?
The answer is never Vckery.

You're probably right but Sarge was one of my faves so it stings that his final season was wrecked by injuries and he never really got the chance to bounce back properly. It was only 2 years ago that he produced a sublime season, which was one of the key reasons we made it to a prelim.

Butcher is extremely lucky.

I think he's extremely unlucky not to be in the side right now considering what shape our list is in at the moment.

right decision no doubt. but leaves a hole up forward. Howard wont be around next year. leaves Butcher and Dixon.. And butch is no cert to stay.
Have to have our eye on someone surely?

Bit disappointing that the club has announced the Schulz decision AFTER he played our final home game.

Sarge has been an absolute warrior, he's bled for our club, and IMO he deserves better.

Fair enough to not renew him, but had they announced the decision last week we could have given him the exit he deserves.

Poor form PAFC.
