we traded for Toumpas

Not really - swapped pick 29 for 30... which we used on Bonner who we would have taken at 29 anyway, so we gave up pick 50 for a gamble on a former pick 4.

I liken this trade to putting a mystery bet on the Melbourne cup - very little outlay for a potentially huge payout.

Toumpas more than likely has next year to turn his career around, otherwise he will be back playing for Lockleys in div 5/6!

Remove krak and polec thats just ******* stupid

Well I would put it to you that Hammer is on this list and he hasn't been dropped for poor form or attitude issues and well Polec has been dropped twice and Krakeour has been suspended. I'm not saying who I think should be on this list just who I think might be on the list.

And if these names are being put on the table due to attitudinal issues then it could well be the case.

I doubt Clurey will be traded, unless he wants to be, he played enough decent footy in the latter part of the season to at least suggest he has something to offer going forward.

But it won't surprise me greatly if Tom Jonas isn't on the Power list next year, he has done sfa since his breakout year in 2014, and there is a very real risk that due to his stupidity, which resulted in that long term suspension that he could be umpired out of the game.

Not sure why Clurey is being mentioned at all as trade bait in this thread. We have already lost Carlile, will likely part ways with O'Shea and Stewart as well, and Jonas would be in line to be traded before him too. Who knows if Trengove goes back to CHB, or gets turned into a ruckman/forward. We'd go from a team full of backmen to a team with zero depth in that area.

There is no way we should be entertaining the thought of trading Polec, people forget he was coming off a career threatening injury this year & our ruck/stoppage system was as inconsistent as it's ever been.

Whilst he was disciplined twice this year as the whipping boy unlike a number of other expendables on our list he is one of our cleanest most damaging midfielders, with a bit of improvement in the ruck & inside mid department is capable of winning games off his boot.

Of all the players who had an inconsistent year he'd be one I could excuse as he was playing a lone hand at times as our only wingman with pace, we also wouldn't get anywhere his worth if he was put up for trade.

What's with the interest in turning Trengove into a forward? It's never worked, I don't know what's changed to make people think he can play there. He needs to be in the ruck and spend some time floating around the defensive half.

Rarely do I venture beyond this board, let alone onto the Adelaide board, but the recent speculation surrounding Hartlett lead me there. I normally despise nonsense from the outside being dragged back here, but I can't help but share this summary of the trades proposed:

• Hartlett and our first-round pick for their first-round pick.
• A second-round pick.
• Lowden, Grigg, and a second-round pick.
• Cam Ellis-Yolmen and a second-round pick.
• A straight swap for Cam Ellis-Yolmen.
• A third-round pick, telling us to 'suck eggs' because '(Port Adelaide) need to get rid of him and don't have any choice in the matter', 'he refuses to go anywhere but the Crows', and '(Adelaide) have all the bargaining chips in the world'.

The most sensible trade of all, a 2017 first-round pick, was shouted down.

Adelaide being linked to Hartlett is the same PR exercise that Martin was - a way to deflect attention from another garbage performance on the back of the fact that they have a shit draft pick to go into the draft with and no prospects coming through. Menzel, Gore and Hampton were complete busts, and they don't even have anyone decent to get a higher draft pick to get the players they need to go to the next level.

That being said - their 2017 first round will be a top ten pick...

Wait ... but ... our first rounder is higher than theirs? So they're suggesting that we not only give them Hartlett for free, but we upgrade their first rounder on top of that?

I think he forgot to mention the steak knives being sloane, Laird, Talia and Betts in that trade

well, i mean you guys were serious about Ellis-Yolmen for Hartlett, so i wouldnt be so sure that it is a joke....
Yeah I dunno what was going on there.

For the record, I'd love to get HH IF we're certain he doesn't repeat his 2016. Big if, though.

neither.... mad if they thought they were getting a best 22 player for a fringe player!

i think any club would love to get him if he doesnt have a repeat of 2016. However, they wont give up what we want for him, which is a high 1st

Problem is, you can never be sure whether he will or won't repeat this year, which probably hurts his value a little, realistically.

It'd be the same if, say, Brodie Smith was rumoured to be traded - he's a gun who I'd be wanting a top pick for, but based on his past year, I'm not sure we'd get it.

would we go down the path of signing the winner of the recruit, had it be Matt Eagles?

ruck/fwd, 26 and a SA lad.

or will we be put off by Wagner?

Wouldn't see why not. He's played pretty well in the VFL this year.
