I heard a Brisbane Lions player (Lisle) did a 'blackface' impersonation of Lebron James ..
How stupid can you get ?
Yet when a black guy does whiteface nobody has a problem

Hmmm....Harry Connick Jnr and a fair slab of the civilised world disagree. So if you were going to dress up as a black person i would think coloring your skin would be a good way to go about it. Again people who want to complain about a dress up, there is no racial intent to offend and there is no issue if someone did dress up as lebron.
Here's what you have to justify: in what context is child abuse funny? Are we missing something? That's what their outfits represent, right? Child pedophilia. Please explain

because its a costume. no-one is saying pedophilia is funny but the costume is. thats all it is, a costume of a topical nature.
Do you get offended if someone dresses up as freddy krueger at a fancy dress up party? he was a fictional child molesterer/murderer.
They didnt walk into a hospital of rape victims dressed as them and walk around scaring people
They turned up to a footy club celebration, anyone bringing in others misfortune is just wanting to be offended by something
...and put it on their Instagram.
'...a hospital of rape victims...' WTF are you talking about?
Double standards maybe?
Yes Racism is a terrible thing but someone tell me what the **** is the difference between a white person painting their face black and a black person painting their face white. Absolutely nothing. You want equal rights, great, then make them actually equal.
You guys obviously have no idea about the significance of blackface in perpetuating racism against blacks.Yet when a black guy does whiteface nobody has a problem
There you go. I don't get offended because he is a fictional character out of an iconic fictional film in which he is the villain. That's the context.because its a costume. no-one is saying pedophilia is funny but the costume is. thats all it is, a costume of a topical nature.

If you work full time, work weekends, are married, have kids, are paying high rent, saving or payinn off a house then you have made all of those decisions yourself and you should then deal with the consequences as such -
My life is not defined by where I work or how often I work. I work as little as possible to get by and have no such ambition to put my life in debt and live excessively consumerist lifestyles..
Noone forces you to work so damn hard, that's you're own choice. If AFL players want to act like dickheads once their season's over then so be it - No different to anyone else acting like dickheads when they want to, except maybe that we won't find threads dedicated to it on bigfooty...

The context behind this as you say is 'topical' in that it trivialises the fact that so many vulnerable children were sexually abused and emotionally scarred.
Can you honestly say if it was your daughter that had been abused by Harris you wouldn't feel offended knowing it was essentially your daughter being represented in that picture?
The whole idea of Mad Monday is to dress up for a laugh... or do you deny that?
They did ... in 2011. Bartel and some other player dressed as Ricky Nixon and Kim Duthie.

on THEIR instagram, which no one is forced to look at
Not until the media decides to make it a front page story
If its such a sensitive photo why is it on the front page of every media outlet, if its so offensive why are they showing it all over the newspapers
Fact is no one here would have seen it if the media hadn't picked it up
The rape thing is that they didnt go out and find people to offend, people found what they were doing and chose to get offended
I'm not on Instagram. Presumably they posted the photos to their followers (of which they may have hundreds, or more) and then shared them via other social media platforms. Would they know everyone that is following them on Instagram or Twitter and know whether any of these followers/Melbourne supporters/complete strangers have been the victims of paedophilia in their lives? I'd humbly suggest that they wouldn't have the first ****ing clue.
Blackface was originally used when people in the film industry wanted 'black' people in their film, but wouldn't employ black people, because they were black.![]()

This movie is a crime against comedy far more heinous than any racial hate crime![]()

So from now on you should never do anything ever that might offend someone just in case it offends them ?
If you choose to follow them then you should take responsibility yourself for being offended
Jesus, what planet are you on? Are you really comparing consensual & legal sex between two morons to the act of pedophilia?
