Oliver/Petracca Vs Bont/Macrae is awesome. You know you are a gun when some knob creates an overrated thread.
Best player on the park last night in a 1 v 2 clash.
2 first rounders as well of course, lets be realistic. If you were Port's list manager, Ollie Wines demands a trade to the Dogs and they offer Bont, are you saying no?

Judd won a Norm Smith in a losing side and a Premiership in back to back years. That is closest example I can think of. Bont may join that exclusive club this year. Though not in back to back years.how does he win a premiership and a norm smith in a losing side? I know the guy is a gun but there are some feats that even he can’t achieve
I have never seen a player get his possessions intercepted as much as Bontempelli does. For a guy who is meant to be an "elite" disposal, he sure kicks it to the opposition often.
In the 4th quarter, Touk Miller was busting his guts to try and get his team over the line, while Bontempelli was skirting backs, fumbling and just being completely ineffectual.
Oliver Wines would be a far more deserving Brownlow winner than Bontempelli.
He actually has one of the best inside 50 kicks in the competition. What he does do sometimes is bite off more than he can choose, which happens occasionally and obviously tonight.
Still the best player in the competition
Of course it merits a new thread. This guy is considered by many to be one of the best players in the competition, yet his efficiency by foot is actually terrible. His kicks have been marked by opposition players more than any other player in the competition.
Hahahaha yeah I was on my phone for that one, should probably read over next time just in caseJust so that someone gets something useful out of this thread;
The expression is "bite off more than he can chew".
Though it might have also just been an autocorrect failure. In which case this thread really was good for nothing.
Could be something in thisMaybe opposition teams want him to have so much ball, because he turns over half of them![]()
Yer, as weak as piss from Bont. Would much rather watch a gun midfielder from a gun side, someone like Paddy Dow.Maybe opposition teams want him to have so much ball, because he turns over half of them![]()
There's a difference between missing a target and kicking a clanger.
Bontempelli hands it over directly to the opposition far more than other players. Touk Miller was getting a lot of the ball today, he wasn't turning it over nearly as much and had significantly more of an impact.
That 2019 game against Port would have to be one of the best wet weather performances I’ve ever seen.Jealously is a curse he kills the power everytime. Go and play with your sand bucket.
2021 foxfooty
A brilliant display by Marcus Bontempelli has propelled the Western Bulldogs to an impressive 19-point win over Port Adelaide in a pulsating clash of premiership heavyweights at Adelaide Oval.
2019 foxfooty
Marcus Bontempelli’s wet-weather masterclass sparked the Western Bulldogs who defied regular rain squalls and a heavily fancied Port Adelaide opponent to muscle their way to a fine victory.
Bontempelli laid the foundation with a stunning opening term in driving rain, sturdy-marking Josh Schache enjoyed one of his finest outings in conditions considered unsuited to him, while Jack Macrae, Josh Dunkley and tough-tackling Bailey Smith simply out-hustled their Power opponents.
This is very true.Agree he’s probably overrated. Macrae and Libba very underrated and Bont just comes up clutch winning games all the time to steal the spotlight.
having said that he’s currently comfortably the best player in the AFL
This has definitely aged well
I think clearly best mid in the AFL at the moment. Love watching him play and seems like a terrific bloke. Only complaint is he is not a Saint.
I was coming to say something similar. My only complaint is he is not a Hawk.
