Not wanting to sound like bee dee, but...

Does anyone else know about the Mark Powell story. I've heard he has quit football and gone back to Sydney with his girlfriend, who couldn't settle in Melbourne. Part of the reason was that said girlfriend's father offered Powell big money to work for him.

So now North Melbourne are 1 player short?

First I have heard of it, but not terrible news for us if true. He was probably the 40th best player on our list for 2006.

Tragic if some broad has ruined a chance of a career in AFL for him though.

On the AFL site it says pick 61 but Geelong used that to get Mathew Stokes.

Pick 61 became a lower number as final lists and picks were finalised. 61 became 59.

I heard it from a friend of Shane Woewodin's.

Why does Woey care? Well that's obvious.

There was no mention of whether North have tried to convince him to reconsider, not that they'd be that fussed you'd think.

I felt for Woey after we selected Thurley instead of him, now I feel even worse for him. Should still be in the AFL.

Must be a Euro-pr0n producer or something.

Still, as much as you want to keep who you can, and as much as I think the kid can play a bit, he was the last bloke we drafted in the proper draft, and therefore corresponds to being our second-last player on the list.

I'd like to think we can make a successful attempt to change his mind if the report is true, but he's not exactly Daniel Wells or Nick Riewoldt so it's a very minor loss.

Not bad, but not a great player by any stretch. Represented Australia at Under 17 level in Ireland in 2001.

Not sure in the truth in it. Has there been anything from North on it?

Woey might be kicking himself (and North themselves, too) if true.
