Thanks for that. Yeah I honestly just slashed right through ME1 on xbox to familiarize myself with the game as I finished it a year before on the PC (where I took my time). I would've been like level 35ish on ME1 I think so yeah level 2 probably.

After finishing it the first time what should I do? Restart with another ME1 character, restart with my ME2 character or create a whole new character and which class should I go as?

What class did you just play as? I'd definitely change it up for playthrough 2

I'd use my other me1 characters, thats what i'm doing, good to see old faces again. I started out with a soldier, same as ME1. This next time i'm going with my adept. They don't have the weapon skills but the biotic stuff is awesome.

With games like this i also tend to be full on good or evil, because it gives you the best chance of seeing new cut scenes/story arcs. My soldier is straight paragon, but i'm looking forward to some renegade action on round 2

If you import your ME2 character for your second playthrough then you get a completely new career with that character and you can change you appearance and class as well. Only problem is your choices from ME1 (if you had any) and you background stay the same, that's about it.

First time around I played as an engineer. Which was pretty good except I wanted to have the ammo powers and I wanted to do biotic combos. So I was thinking either adept or soldier as I am not that keen on vanguard. I am definitely going to step the difficulty up a notch as well to the level just under insanity.

Each to their own, sure, but I've never quite understood why people go either full goody goody or full badass (not just in Mass Effect but in other decision making games).

The game is about giving us choices and aren't you taking away from that ability if you simply choose one option every time?

I tend to choose what I think is the most interesting one at the time. In the first one I ended up being about a 60/40 split in favour of paragon. A lot of the renegade options were more "hi, I'm Commander Sheperd and I'm a twat" than actual renegade.

I am loving the second game now though.

SPOILERS (archangel mission):

I've just recruited Garrus. I must say I am very happy to have an old friend back. My usual team in the first game consisted of Garrus and Wrex. I must admit I was a bit shocked when I saw him almost die and I fought that gunship with a bit more venom because of it!

I understand what you're saying, but if you go a bit each way with ME you get a slightly degraded experience it seems. Unless you are full paragon/renegade you seem to miss a few things simply because you don't have enough charisma/badass to unlock a response or action in certain situations.

It's all good mate. TBH i will play this 3 times (as i did with the first) using different classes and approaches. Paragon, renegade and whatever i feel like at the time:thumbsu:

For me, I just HAVE to be the good guy every time because I will actually feel bad if I choose a renegade/evil option and didn't get the renegade achievement from the first game because of it out of all my playthroughs (which were about 4 or 5). Every single time i went full paragon haha, but that's just me and taking the high road interests me much more than the quick and easy one.

Speaking of quick and easy, is it just me or do most of renegade interrupts exist to make your life easier? I mean, you can either choose to break this mercenary's neck and kill his squad without much trouble with an interrupt and get renegade points, or you can kill him and his squad the hard way and not get any morality points at all. Seems as bit counter-active to me.

Hahaha, I've actually made a habit out of watching youtube clips of the renegade choices just so I can see the other side of the morality fence. I laugh at the more hilarious ones, like the council intercom, but I still feel sorry for the nice people who get a jerk Shepard. Like that Asari on Feros, there's no need to take the renegade path, there's no reason why anyone would do that.

I love it when he chastises Joker for "reminding him of santa claus" and the intercom to the council is just classic:D

I actually agree with you Melbournemartin in a way, although I did full paragon based on the character that it creates. I think for myself I felt like doing whatever felt right at the time, but in terms of creating a character in the game you gotta go for full paragon or full renegade to truly experience what kind of person John Shepard will be.

heh just had a talk with garrus

About his sparring match with the female Turian scout. He had reach but she had flexibilty, after 9 rounds the judge called it a draw. They settled it later on in his quarters, he still had reach and she still had the flexibilty....

:D

Just bought it today for $70 from JB got them to price match BigW who only had one left and had a scratched disc! (Make sure to check them when they're not sealed).

Anyone have a look at the new armour and shottie yet?

I had a gander at the armour, I like the look of it - except for the helmet part.

If I can have one of my little whinges about nothing important, I'd like an option to take the helmet off for the special armours, like in the first game.

Or even just have them off for the dialogue bits.
Not sure which of you did the Liara romance, but when I met her on Illium she came up to me for a big wet snog while I was wearing my visor, and I inadvertedly stuck my microphone in her mouth (that's not a euphemism it was a literal microphone) and it looked kinda awkward

Speaking of that actually I don't know why she wouldn't let me get one away with her, fair enough she was doing her own thing but she couldn't spare a dirty afternoon with her old lady? She hadn't seen me in years, I refuse to believe she wasn't up for a bit of hot lesbo action. She better not have been having it off with her receptionist while I was dead
:mad::mad:

Loving how deep this game is, you complete one mission and another one is added along the way :thumbsu: I'm about to search the Collectors ship I think.

started this yesterday, about 5 hours in.

Can confidently say this is one of the best games I've ever played.

Just brilliant

Dammit, he's still a jerk :D.

Merc: I've got nothing more to say to you!
Shep: How about 'goodbye'?

Best Arnie moment in the game for mine

Also lost my shit when he pimphanded the journalist. Little bit extreme.

Some quality shit in there, gotta play full renegade next time :thumbsu:
