(I'm going to post this over the main Collingwood boards, sorry if it annoys anybody, that isn't my intention.)

Johnno/Luke,

My grandmother, a lifelong, one-eyed Collingwood supporter, had a stroke and fell into a coma last night, from which she won't wake.

She loved all the boys (Even stretch) and never once had a bad word to say about any of them, but Bucks and Daisy were her absolute favourites. When Bucks hit Thommo on the chest and he drilled the goal in the first minute against Sydney last week, the grin on her face had to be seen to be believed.

I'm posting this because it would mean to world to my family if we could somehow organise for a card, or anything, to be sent on behalf of those players or the club. I've addressed it to you, because I know you're becoming connected down there, and I didn't know where else to start.

If you, or anyone, can help, please PM me.

Thanks, and Go Pies.

I'm sorry to hear that, Tony. I hope something can be arranged for you and your family.

You can contact the club directly, they often get similar requests. They might ask you to supply the card or similar for the players to sign.

Condolences to you Tony Francis. My uncle had a cancer scare I'd guess you call it and one of his friends contacted the club and they sent a jumper signed by the whole team down to him in Tassie.

Contacting the club directly seems the best way to go.

yeah condolences mate. Just call the elxus centre up im sure they'll be more than happy to do it for

Thanks all,

I'm overwhelmed by the support, certainly bought an unexpected tear to the eye.

The Collingwood family is alive and well.

All,

She passed away peacefully this morning. The last game she was around to see was Bucks' return against Sydney surrounded by family, which isn't such a bad way to go if you ask me.

We could all learn alot from the way she supported the boys. She often said that some might not be as talented as others, but she truly believed they all gave 100% of what they could once they got on the ground, and loved them for it.

Thanks again for your words, they mean alot.

That's very sad news Tony.

Very sorry to hear that news. It'd be great if our Pies would do it for her, from what you've said, a lot could have learned off her.
