I'd be upset if we don't make the effort to get Borlace on our list. I honestly think he is a real chance to become a very good player at AFL level. His improvement this year was huge and he certainly comes from very good stock. Please crows make this one happen

I think if we have to take Borlase on the main list, we just run as 37 and 5 rookies instead of 36 and 6, which sounds like our preference.

We won't have a pick to the very end of the draft by the time we match Jones.

If you are matching a bid from us it would be then, so essentially free points wise.

I am not sure what the rules say about matching though if you have already passed at 40?

Makes sense, if you are going to pass on the pick you may as well use it to pick up who ever you are waiting for, there are no prizes for getting guns at picks further into the draft.

That's not how the deficit works. You go into deficit for the same round - so if Borlase is bid on in the third round, we lose points from our third next year.

Freo had a first-round match last year for Henry. They had a points deficit there, so that is applied to their first round pick this year.

Port will be hoping Taj Schofield gets through to the rookie draft as I take it they will nominate him F/S?....not overly big but right up there with the top echelon of this draft skills wise and tested really well athletically at the Combine.

They’re not going to have 35 after marching a Jones bid.

From a distance away and with little detailed knowledge on either it feels like Edwards has slipped this year to about the place that Borlase has risen to.

It always seems like these guys are overated and talked about as a guaranteed top ten picks about 12 months out but slip in their final year.

We already gave up our future 2nd and 3rd so even if we do it would be a 4th which won't end up that far in front of our end of draft picks anyway. I can't see the point.

Chris Davies did suggest that moving back into this draft was still an option though.

As for bidding on Borlase, if he is still there at the end of the ND I cant see any reason why we wouldn't. Jonas and McKenzie aren't getting any younger and he is the son of a PAFC champion.

Article missed a couple of things, Crows Trade with Brisbane
Pick 66 and Melb 2021- 4th rd, for pick 63, They traded for extra points, as they cannot use pick 63,
Also, they can only put on the Cat B rookie list as they Have filled up All there Cat A spots,
At this time counting Hately, the Crows only have 5 list spots and 2 Cat B list spots open to them.
