Bust. What a humiliation.
We rely too much on the older lads to carry us. Good to see Renshaw show a lot of heart and class.

Probably the first time ever that Zimbabwean pacers have dominated Australia to such a degree.

The worst Australian defeat in a World Cup since Zimbabwe in 1983? Only taking 2 wickets and getting bowled out nowhere near 170? Probably.

This is a really poor Australian T20 team. Australia usually time their run to World Cups really well. Injuries haven't helped but it seems this time they have no idea what their best team is and are trying to rebuild in a World Cup. Inglis ahead of Carey? Kuhnemann? Dwarshuis? Connolly in the squad ahead of Smith? Gimme a break.

to which we could add: G. Maxwell past his best

We are such an ordinary looking T20 team on paper, apart from Head David and Zampa (and maybe Ellis). If we go into a tournament with Dwarshish or however it is spelt, we are conceding from ball 1.

Smudge will help, but our bowling is a real concern

England in trouble at 5-105 against Italy, a country without a single turf wicket.

Massive start from the Aussie openers, North’s own Mitch Marsh and Travis head. Over 100 after only 8 overs and on fire. Once they departed we predictably collapsed, eventually losing our final 6 wickets for 21 runs (in the final 4 overs) ending on 181. Very gettable for Sri Lanka on their home deck.

As expected, Sri Lanka win with 8 wickets in hand. Both wickets taken by Stoinis and otherwise we were pedestrian with the ball. Not out of the tournament yet but need a miracle.

Need to thrash Ireland and need Zimbabwe to be thrashed twice by Sri Lanka and Ireland (they beat us).

All my family have dual Aus/UK citizenship as we have lived over here so long it makes things simpler but I realised today my son, who is staying in London when we come home, now sees himself as English. He was diplomatic during the Ashes seeming neutral to avoid offending family or friends but tonight he is openly celebrating England rescuing themselves against Italy and us losing to the Lankans.

Pretty much all his mates are English and he went to school from the age of 6 here so I sort of get it but I have a very bad taste in my mouth and need a big whisky (I barely drink!) 🤢🤯😱 My daughter thumped him despite us having left Australia when she was 3 so all is not lost. She very much barracks for North as well so she’ll be inheriting everything 🤣

We have played Ireland. Need to thrash Oman.

I never like suggesting this, but if you can broker a trade where ypu can move him on for a couple of younger promising tradie apprentices (hey that way you get 2 new kids and your repairs done cheap) I'd look at it.

You have to resort the list sometimes.

If she's not already your daughter needs to be in the leadership group if not straight up to captain.

This is probably the most embarrassingly bad performance in a World Cup ever for Australia. What an insipid effort.
It's T20 cricket GK, relax. Everyone will have forgotten about it by this time next week. If it's got anything going for it, it's the ability of lesser ranked nations to actually knock off the powerful from time to time.
Save your concern for cricket matters of actual substance

True - I'm not even a 20/20 fan tbh - much prefer tests and one dayers. But it is a World Cup and the players represent Australia. Have some national pride. They played like crap.

What are the child labour laws like over there? Are chimney sweeps still required? If so, send him up one and then board it up

Canada are putting NZ to the sword. A young 19 year old with his first international ton.
