I don't think we play badly in the wet, as a rule. I just think, by coincidence, that a few of our poorer games in recent years have been in the wet. It's only really that one Anzac day game in 2002 that people refer to anyway, when regrading our wet weather play. We had a pretty gutsy win in the wet late last year over Melbourne at the 'G, that was an underrated performance.

A club trains outdoors all during the summer, and all during the season. It's only 2 hours of football 9 times a year at the Dome that we are indoors (18 hours) and I fail to see how 18 hours of football, compared to hundreds of hours of outdoor training is somehow going to make us worse in the wet.

I think it's a bit of a myth. I think we're as capable of playing in thr wet as any other team. Collingwood nearly play as many matches at the Dome as us. We play 9 and I think they play 7. Why should we be worse in the wet than them? Under what logic?
We do play bad football in the wet Dan, because the players do not adjust their game to the conditions. They handpass too much and try to put pinpoint passes onto the chests of our leading forwards. They did it on ANZAC day '02, they did it against Melbourne last year (even though we scraped in with the win i was nowhere near as impressed with that effort as you were) and they did it against Port in the final. Did you notice that in the 1st qtr of the Port final that the Power kicked 3 goals off the ground? THAT'S what you do in wet weather footy. No stuffing around, just take whatever opportunity you get to move the ball forward. Our boys don't seem to realise that.

What's that got to do with anything? The point is they spend most of their time outdoors and should therefore be accustomed to outside conditions.

silly argument. The amount of time they spend outdoor won't affect their gameplan, the way they handle the ball under pressure, players maintaining they're composure, basically the things that winning a game of footy are all about. Add to this wet weather conditions, a ball thats hard to handle, amongst other things, and its a whole new ball game.

do we know if Burns is playing? he was listed as a 50/50 shot by my friend if he isnt then we should still win comfatably... remmeber they have Ryce Shaw Cameron Cloke Jason Cloke Richard Cole and a large number of others who cant kick normally let alone in the wet...

Oh no my team's at an end...

Sunday, showers expected.

We're ****ed...

I doubt the weather will have an affect on the result. The way we (Collingwood) have been playing, I doubt the rain will help us. Only thing that will help Collingowod win, is a miracle.

I think our perceived weakness in wet weather is somewhat justified, considering that our general gameplan often consists of mucking around with the ball.

We don't play long and direct enough, wet weather or dry. Mucked around in the first half last week, fell behind.

Few things bug me more than when guys run around looking for a handpass and then give it to somebody who's about to get tackled.

Just bomb the stupid thing in Sheeds.

It was demonstrated in fine form yesterday.
