Reading what he has to say it's actually not that far off the mark. Interpretations can change from 1 umpire to the next and that's within a game itself, where the umpire at one end may pay a free kick in a certain situation, yet the same thing happens at the other end and it's play on. The rules are now written in a way that it's based on an umpires interpretation rather than a clear cut decision.
should take it up with shockings

True, he changed the rules to suit them, now his team can't take advantage of them like they used to he's not happy, however it doesn't take away from what he's saying here.

Well done Hawthorn, getting reward for effort and shows the benefit of playing a consistent team & structure.

Typical Scott. He didn't say anything definitive of any interest. Just a whole lot of stuff that amounts to little, designed to make himself sound intelligent.

He has basically said teams getting free kicks should be allowed to play on with double jeopardy if it doesn't work out in their favour they get to come back and have a second crack at it by taking the free kick where it was paid. In other words, a free kick would be worth loads more than it is now, not a world any Richmond supporter wants to ever live in, that is for sure.

This *er has presided over Hawkins cheat shoving players in the back for years, Selwood cheating shrugging to draw high free kicks, Dangerfield cheat diving to try to draw free kicks and 50m penalties, and has drawn enormous benefit from having direct influence over how the game is adjudicated through his best mate and then twin brother being in the position where they were in charge of rules and umpiring. He invented the stand rule to try to help his team overcome the pressure Richmond was destroying them with. He has benefitted from some of the most baffling MRO no case to answer decisions by his best mate and twin brother.

And he has the temerity to talk as if he is some sort of fair minded, erudite authority on what is good for the game.

heck off campaigner.
