Eli - He cops a lot because he's Peyton's little bro, but he's actually pretty good on his own.

Rivers, admittedly, is better than you would want him to be, given the amount that the Giants gave up to turn him into Eli Manning, but he's still not as good as Eli.

Go Big Blue!

Eli - Rivers was made to look better by the rest of the team... Admittedly Eli ain't great but if the team holds together (ie injury-wise) he shouldn't be under the same stress he was last year (brought about at the halfway mark last year when injuries on both sides got bad)

Rivers - Eli's receivers are headcases, and Rivers has the best outlet in the game whenever he's under pressure.

I think that's an oversimplification - Plaxico Burress is the only one who's a headcase, but it doesn't really affect him on the field. He's still one of the best receivers in the game, and at times will be solely responsible for getting Eli 150 yards and a couple of TDs in a game.

If Jeremy Shockey can get some more touches (he'd be the best receiving TE in the game if the Giants would actually run some plays for him - Yes, better than Gates for Rivers), Toomer is back to provide support, and Sinorice Moss develops like he was last year, and like is in his veins (being Santana's little bro and all), then the Giants are going to surprise people with their weapons.

Don't forget, the Giants are going to throw the ball a lot more with Tiki Barber gone - LT will still receive a lot of balls, but even so, he'll probably get more carries than Brandon Jacobs will this season.

Yeah, maybe that was a little harsh, but Burress and Shockey are petulant bastards at the best of times.

As far as TE's go, I'm still loving the fact I could play Marques Colston at the TE position in my fantasy league last year. Went a long way toward winning me the SuperBowl, along with Maurice Jones-Drew and Javon Walker being picked up during the season. :thumbsu:

Shouldn't this thread be moved to the American Football board?

Some of you should head over there . . . we're even friendly to Collingwood supporters. ;)

I voted Rivers. Eli would be a backup in Atlanta atm if his surname wasn't Manning.

Manning in second preseason game ( i know its only preseason) but against the Ravens
10 out of 13
1 touchdown

And he fumbled twice.

I watched the game and he hasn't improved.
sh*t game coz we lost a few starters
Roughly same place he was last year (which if he performs can lead them at least to an 8-8 record IMO)
