Only places I ever stayed in Melbourne, and this prior to all the merger stuff (1992, 1994 and 1995, me an old Bear), curiously was friends who lived in Fitzroy. So my first and enduring memories are of Mel and Fitzroy....which makes the team really special for me....cos I have a SMALL TINY inkling of what the Fitzroy folk lost on that day, plus my own support for the local team.
The Lions kicking arse in Melbourne is to me almost as good as winning a final...lets face it, it has happened as often!!

Hi, cambad. Fitzroy is a great place. I love Brunswick Street. I live just up the road in North Fitzroy and it's gotta be the best part of Melbourne.

But I don't think the inner suburbs of Melbourne have really had much connection with the football clubs that were named after them since probably the 1940s or so.

Anyway. You sound like a bit of a character, so welcome. I'm sure we'll either love you or hate you in the course of time.

But if you don't improve your diet, I suspect you won't be around for long. Footy-shaped brown rice is better for you. With lots of vegies. And tofu. (Very Fitzroy, don't you think?)

Lucky I'm here too, to even up the fridge with some grog and savs and mince meat and hot salami and ham and stuff.

Wild diversity in this household!

Got caught shopping across the road from work, carting around calci-forte soy milk and no-preservative hommus dip. It gets hard to explain!

PS : I will say something about lines getting blurry, I haven't drunk coca cola since August last year. Better for the stress level, but tired, oh so tired ...
