Weeks spent on top of the ladder during their three in quick succession premiership years:
Lions - 24 weeks
Cats - 21 weeks
Hawks - 20 weeks
Tigers - 0 weeks
(my comment
2018 was their best minor round year of the 4, they lost PF final, but were top for 15 rounds in 2018.)

The +/- of weeks spent on top of the ladder vs bottom of the ladder since 2000:
Cats +71
Magpies +38
Power +37
Swans +20
Hawks +19
Saints +16
Bombers +16 .......

I didn't realise we spent so many weeks in 9th spot.

Second top for weeks no. 1 and bottom 4, for being bottom for one flag is a failure across multiple administrations (though especially the current lot). The weeks 9th is an interesting one. We were no where near the top in 'Remember 2012!', all those off contract years of Hinkley have really added up though. That mid-table mediocrity of 'not good enough to challenge, not s**t enough to get good picks', worst of all worlds, that Koch and co. don't realise is the worst case for any club, over a long period.

Looked at the positions by round at AFL Tables link below. I'm out by 3 but it gives an idea when it occurred.

1997-2000 12 inc 7 in 1997
2000-2004 5
2005-2012 11
2013-2023 21 inc 8 x in 2016 and 5 in 2019

We also have a lot of 10ths.

"Dey was abouts to fold until Kenny saved dem! Lol tarps!"

Literally 2 bad years out of 27 and the club was gonna shut down, until Kenny arrived to bring us to the promised land of multiple 10th place finishes.

50k per ring, almost as much as a rookies contract.

Another absolutely out of touch move while the majority of the population financially struggles to buy groceries. Super excited to have ticket prices and Kayo prices rise to fund this.

Just a quick question. Carlton named their top 5 players every. Notwithstanding the fact that we've been in the AFL for a lesser time, what do you think is our top 5. Not in any particular order I thought of 3 obvious ones. Wanganeen, Tredrea, and Grey. With 4 and 5 being James and Wilson

That's a toughish as the hyenas will come out and tell you how wrong you are.

I'll go:

1. Warren Tredrea
2. Robbie Gray
3. Gavin Wanganeen
4. Chad Cornes
5. Shaun Burgoyne

Heavy criticism of premiership-winning Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has become “aggressive and personal” according to the club’s football boss Matthew Egan, who has been shocked at the level of vitriol.
Beveridge is facing a must-win clash against Richmond on Saturday after his team slumped to a 3-5 record last weekend after losing to Hawthorn, a fourth loss in five matches, heaping pressure on the coach who has garnered support from his players and club officials amid the strong backlash from outside the club.

Egan, who was appointed as part of a review last year to oversee the football program, lauded Beveridge’s connection with his players and said he was shocked at how heavy the attacks had been.

“I have been blown away with how aggressive some of the comments have been in the media about a guy who has been coaching 10 years at the footy club with a grand final win and obviously being in the grand final only three years ago,” Egan said on Wednesday.

This is tough.

Are you judging by only Port games? If so, that might knock Wanganeen back a bit in my mind (still a bloody good player).

I have Grey, Tredrea, Chad Cornes, Wanganeen and for shear heart Matthew Primus (how many players directly result in a rule change?)

honourable mentions to Wilson, Boak (PAFC AFL games record holder) and Shaun Burgoyne.

I bet they get nowhere near a Part 10 on the WB board before Bevo gets the boot.
