Seriously, the 9-0 team from last year that you venerate is exactly the same team as the 3-10 team from the latter portion of the year, only with an easy fixture.

Except for all the missing players, obviously.

Don't forget we also have Josh Jenkins...though he was very rusty last week on his return.
Oh right. I thought he was still out of the team. Do you think you will play all of Jenkins, Walker, Lynch and Otten if it's really wet or would a late change be considered?

Our performances against GWS was far better than last year's close game, as was a rare win away against Hawks away... though granted they have been average mostly since.

Having watched Adelaide live in most games, we are playing a better brand of football than last year, mainly because we have better balance in our midfield.

See, that shows me that you are looking through crow goggles.

Hawthorn are WOEFUL in 2017 and shouldn't even be included in your form line.

Not really, missing injured from half way were Waite, Higgins, Wright, Garner, Wood and Wells while Goldy played injured from round 9 or 10. I am sure i have missed others who missed games as well which my brethren on this board will advise.

McDonald out hurt us as much as Higgins. He was playing great lockdown roles before getting injured.

I have a funny feeling the Crows are due for a loss. Just like when the US were due for a loss in 1983 in the America's Cup.
I'll never forget when John Newcombe captained Australia II to victory on that grateful morning so many moons ago. And Mr Scott is our Ben Lexus - designing the game plan to bring down the Crows.

Sure, but at the time they weren't horrible & we hadn't beaten them in the previous 7 games as they had the wood on us.

Regardless, the results suggest we are travelling better than last year at this stage with quality wins against GWS & Port.

They all played last week, but you may be right that 1 drops out for Knight. Difficult choice as would be JJ as underdone.

John Newcombe was an Australian tennis player mate . Your thinking if John Bertrin :-)

Ben Jacobs was as big a loss as any, someone mentioned McDonald, Turner would have added something.

Of those 9 players at least 8 and maybe all 9 would have been in or around the best 22. That is nearly half a bloody side and some of those players were integral to our gameplans. So there were times when there was little resemblance between the team that went 9 and 0 and the team playing on the field. We lost other good players at crucial times in games too, even if they were back soon after. Cunnington, Swallow, Brown all suffered early injuries that cost us during important games.

Almost worst than the injuries last year were the clearly cooked players (both injury and form) who were forced to play week in week out while we had a few options in the VFL (though not that many). We tried to hang on for dear life after going 9-0 and ran ourselves into the ****ing ground something terrible.

Sorry if this has been posted earlier, but I've closed the bar the past couple of nights & am only just catching up on the League Teams footage...

Paul Roos:
"This could be a cricket score for the Crows ...on the fast Etihad deck"

How much are these guys getting paid?

I've just chucked $50 on us at 6-1.

Yeah 6-1 is a decent price even if it was going to be a dry day.

With a very strong chance of rain, at a ground where we have a good record, I reckon a true price for us would be about 5/2.

You don't think Waite (if fit) would be a beer option as a forward?

That's why we draughted him.

Get it? You accidentally said "beer" and so I said "draught" and....well, I don't need to tell you how ****ing funny that is.

Right there with you on our ex-Captain Andy. Would have been very useful in the conditions. A good horse for the course.

Wondering if they might bring Dec in as a late change to play the Sloane Ranger role.

Latest update...... Oh Dear, im going to get wet. Knowing us Taswegians as I do this will probably be the worst crowd we have ever had to a match due to the weather.

That may be the case, but if we lose by a narrow margin with Dumont under performing in Swallow's place... I can live with that fact. Easily.

The loss itself won't be that easy to deal with of course ;)

It's not an either/or thing mate.

Both should be playing if it is wet.
