Quaynor was targeting Rankine in Rd 23 and getting stuck into him all last game.

Has Quaynor been boo'd by our crowd before? NO.

I love how hypocritical you, old Jen and cromulent are. The boo police. Thank god you guys are here to tell us exactly who can be boo'd and for what reason.
Sit back this week and watch the media now attack the homophobic/racist adelaide crowd. You bought it on yourselves. And **** off with the “old” you ageist!

The problem is, we now know something about some of our guys we didn't before.

Thilthorpe, Fog, Soligo, Dawson, Peatling etc et cetc

None stands up to finals pressure.

If this is the result of the rebuild, we're ****ed.
I don't think it's as grim as that. Next week might tell us more.

Brisbane 2019 - first finals series in a decade. Home Qualifying Final against Richmond (flag winners from two years prior, and written off earlier that season due to form lapses). Brisbane got absolutely smashed. Went out in straight sets. They lost 3 Prelims after that, before getting to a Grand Final, losing it, then winning a flag. That flag was a ten year project and took 6+ years of finals. They're contending again this year too, obviously.

This is why we need to be Top 4 contenders, for multiple years. Random lightning-in-a-bottle flags very rarely happen.

We need a better midfield to do this.
Feel like we didn't get the draft picks that our poor list warranted. We'll be overrun by the WCE with 5 #1 draft picks.

I think they're allowed a mulligan if they haven't played finals before. First time playing under that intensity. It would certainly be concerning if TT stunk it up next week.

It's more concerning for guys like Peatling and Dawson who have played finals before

Really disappointed in our mids.

Dawson couldn't impose himself on the game. Seemed a step off the pace all night.

Berry started brightly but fell out of it and started double grabbing again

Peatling was fumbly and very passive defensively. I remember him being pretty manic with his attack on the ball and player? Was a meek, mild performance.

Soligo was fumbly, rushed and continually fell over. Very poor game.

They're not.

They had the chance to give us a road to a premiership and were pathetic, each,

It might be 9 years before we get one again. Repeat opportunities are not guaranteed.

Entry into our forward line wasn't ideal. This is a Collingwood/Hawks thing not a finals thing.

The problem is people are going to clap us for some worthless semi final performance and honourable prelim loss like we didn't roll belly up and concede a premiership tonight.

There is nothing that can happen for 12 months that will make up for this. the playing group should be ashamed.

I just don't think you can say Thilthorpe doesn't stand up in finals after he's played one final

Want to add one more thing.

That's the dumbest footy we've played for a long time. Hack kicks. Bombing long. Dumb handballs. All up nobody down. All run at the player with the ball leaving players free to receive a handball...Too many things to mention.
Basically yes.

It was just decision after decision that had us in the stands going "WHAT THE ****!?" I think it was Fog at one point right in the guts, someone had marked it and was walking back and Fog calls for the hands. The player passing is looking backwards, they're trusting Fog. So they pass to Fog who immediately runs directly into an opponent. Just absolute bonehead bullshit.

You knew we were in trouble when he started to hack the ball forward.
I noticed a lot of panicked hack-kicking and unimaginative long-bombs down the line tonight; more that we've done for several games. Especially in the second half.
I think Collingwood created that. I despise Collingwood but credit to them for f*cking us up.
Tough, unrelenting pressure is actual pressure, yes, but it created eventually a feeling of perceived pressure ie after getting hit and hit again quickly players start to think they have less time than they actually have.
Expecting pressure, they lose their composure and panic.

Soligo needs to go away this off season and think long and hard about whether he wants to be a top line midfielder, or one of the lads, because after this disappointing campaign his career is at the crossroads
What do you mean "one of the lads"??? Do you have insider knowledge he is unprofessional and why his fitness isn't up to standard????

Some people might.

I don't think there's any honorable prelim losses when you finish 1st. If you don't make the grand final finishing 1st you have ****ed up entirely and the season is a failure

Then stop making excuses for the players

Stats have nothing to do with it. Berry got clean clearances, ran with the ball, and didn't do hack kicks.
Wrong

He fumbled as much as he usually has

Yes he ran - right into trouble and tackles

He didnt do hack kicks because he gave the ball away in panic handballs or frees against
