I disagree - to an extent.
Riley is a poor tap ruckman. Gets bodied easily (even still) and rarely wins taps.
HOWEVER, he is excellent once the ball hits the ground. He's actually a better mid than ruck. Not sure he can play as a pure mid though, so a ruck/mid who might lose the taps but win the clearance is his real role. As long as our other mids are able to understand he isn't going to win many taps it can work.
I hope Curtin keeps playing the exact role he has all year, especially whatever he was doing against Carlton. Contested marks between the arcs are like gold on a cool afternoon at the MCG. I can't wait to see what he can do here.

Remarkable that no opposition small forward has had a big game against us all season. Seems so bizarre to me that people will make shit up or bury their head in the sand ignoring all facts so they can continue to hang shit on one of their team’s own players. What is going on in your life that you’d find pleasure in that? Or is it just easier to go along with the groupthink?
What are the positives that his season so far has provided ??
What has he done thats forced Isaac Cumming and Nank to play out of position on the wing purely to accommodate him ??
Credit where its due, he was fantastic against Carlton, but thats been it so far.

Agree he is a better ruck, but I prefer to develop players to play different roles as needed.
I do, and hes been doing so since he was a kid. Its not new.
Im just not sure throwing Curtin in there is a better idea.
It’s a taxing role, doubt he’s ready on that front. That aside, as long as he didn’t jump at centre bounces and could avoid early engagement around the ground, it might be worth trying.

On a seperate matter this week I’d expect Max and Hinge to bounce back hard after worst games of year against Port . Both gun players for us
Its the perfect role to blood an Edwards or a Ryan, or even put the guy we brought in on a big contract from the Giants where hes best suited.
Its not lazy at all, its being smart.
Bring back the Egyptian. He showed some hardness last week. He took out a goal umpire.
I want Edwards in, and also possibly Bond to guard their small forwards
Id be surprised if we dropped 2 defenders after Saturday night, but we could do so.
We are likely not going to make a change at all.

So does Bond come in, or Edwards? Not sure who gets a rest, but I cannot imagine any of our other defenders on Bobby. Maybe give Milera, Tex, or Nank a rest
