So you are telling me its nicks fault that rankine, curtin , etc who kicked their shots oof ? How about the players taking some of the blame for their skill errors , also collingwood arent a crap side we blew our chances with skill errors and the maggots in green didnt help eitherHow much talent do you want in one group ? Nicks is out of his depth, the lack of ability to control the ball is about poor coaching. We have gathered some proper talent but it will amount to nothing unless we get a board who understand what they are looking at. Dawson, Thilthorpe, Rankine, Fogarty, Curtin are absolute elite talent ... this will all go down the gurgler unless there is a change. Tex Walker is a champion of the footy club but they also need to start rotating his games more regularly and plan for life without him. Watching Tex getting increasingly frustrated with the softness in decision making and lack of clarity within the group is hard - can someone in the football club administration please stand up and agitate for the coaching change which is needed .
Needs a spell clearly

Because we don't think beyond this immediate game. We have no ability to plan. The straight up question I have is why Walker isnt being managed better?
Because we pick a side one week at a time and Nicks doesn't trust this team to lose a senior player and still perform to the same level. The straight up question I have is why Walker isnt being managed better?
Not enough impact in marking contests, useless around the ground, competes well in the ruck but couldn't tap to a teammate to save his life. On top of all that he's recently developed a habit of trying to take on tacklers and getting involved in handball chains. Just an awful footballer.

LOVED your post, generally, especially the above.Milera is a tub of Meadow Lea left out in the sun, a no intensity, panic merchant who shouldn’t be anywhere near an AFL defence… but is too confused/soft to play anything other than loose halfback.
Milera’s manager managing to screw the club again - bloke should be playing for free after the last 5 years and even then he shouldn’t be picked even if he was playing for free after today.
Far out, I hadn't looked at the score since half time...One GREAT thing today: ferals are getting hammered by Cats at AO ...
Poor coaching to expect that. He's just not that sort of player. He's one of the few players I've seen that looks just as unco handballing as he does kicking. If we want a ruck that is good around the ground, we need to recruit one.RoB has clearly been told he needs to be more involved around the ground, and he is actually doing so...
Whether thats good or bad for us, I don't know.
Great point. Draper should be the sub rather than Berry if we're not selecting draper for a full game.I'm a Berry fan. Tried to get Berrliever trending after the winning goal vs Carlton last year.
However... if he's not getting full games when Matt Crouch is out injured, when is he? He's obviously not in our plans. Draper isn't in at the moment either and even our selectors surely project Draper ahead of Berry long term.
So what's the point?
Because we pick a side one week at a time and Nicks doesn't trust this team to lose a senior player and still perform to the same level.
But we have had Burgess (God to some) training our squad for years now, we should be physically strong.I will also say this:
I thought we played hard and the game was there to be won, but Collingwood is an excellent team just firing on all cylinders right now and they just looked a LOT physically stronger that we did. They have a ton of hard, battle-tested players. Hopefully by this time next year we will be at that level.
Max did a lockdown on Elliot and was pretty good at keeping him quiet.Until we have 18 players rock up each week we're not going to contend. We consistently have 5+ players who are down each week and it always alternates.
This week it was Worrell, Keays, ANB, Cumming, Nankervis, Walker and Michalaney who provided very little. 2 of those are key players in defence and 2 are key players in the half forward line.
We literally had no half forward line today and their half backs still had a field day? What were Keays and ANBs role today? Rachele was the only small forward who provided anything.
We executed the tag on Nick Daicos very well, but in the process we got beaten at ground ball so badly, that we were always going to struggle to win the game.
Goal kicking again atrocious. Started the year so well in this area but have fallen off badly. Despite all the negative above, if we'd converted easy shots we probably could have had a good shot at winning today.
Good:
Fog one of the few that can stand up in any game at any ground. He's a big time player that appears to lack a team with similar types.
Dawson much better. Used the ball well and stood up.
Peatling held Daicos well and provided enough in return.
Hinge excellent. Imagine if he, Worrell and Michalaney could play well in the same bloody game!!
Rachele was good when near it.
TT good hands again. Couldn't get it near him in dangerous positions though.
Ok:
Taylor was good when he got it.
Soligo. Still out of form imo. Did better that though. Panicked a bit too much for my liking though.
Curtin was ok aside from that really bad set shot. He's missed a couple of those this year that is really frustrating given his skill.
Laird and O'Brien were okay. Neither good nor bad. Shits me how much we use O'Brien in handball chains though!! Don't give the ball to that oaf.
Milera was okay and I think he's gotten better as the year has gone on (really poor start), but he's not really dangerous anymore.
Nank. Good and bad. Think his role has changed and he's not involved as much anymore. I think he's better suited in defence. Not really sure what role we've given him now?
Keane. Better again but not as good as last week.
Michalaney was good defensively, not a lot of other way though. I guess that's okay against a very dangerous small forward line.
Frustrating:
Rankine. Can't wait for Jeff to pick this up again. Does some really great things and some really poor things. Should be a lot better than he is.
Bad:
Walker. Non event now. Would rather just go without him now. Not providing anything in the air or on the ground. Gets caught with the ball almost every time i50.
Keays. Where you at? Barely saw him. Didn't provide much defensively neither.
ANB same as Keays
Worrell worst game all year. Nothing defensively nor offensively. Really panicked with the ball. Think he's got a lot to learn from this game.
Let's have it Jeff.
He has had 115 games to move the Crows forward and he still sits at 37% win/loss .... I have watched the ineffective coaching for long enough ... Rachele 7 years is a farce, his lack of defensive action and understanding of basic skills is pathetic to watch. I am not telling you anything ... I made a statement about where Adelaide Football Club are at, this is Nicks last year.So you are telling me its nicks fault that rankine, curtin , etc who kicked their shots oof ? How about the players taking some of the blame for their skill errors , also collingwood arent a crap side we blew our chances with skill errors and the maggots in green didnt help either
When your best player kicks 2 set shots OOTF from 40m, doesn't matter what the coach does.
You need more than a couple of gettable shots on goal to beat Collingwood at the G. They missed some sitters too.
McRae took our weapons away, used his own weapons, and our coach did nothing. Like always.
And "big moments" can absolutely be taught/cultivated.
Yeah I mean that's basically what I said.Max did a lockdown on Elliot and was pretty good at keeping him quiet.
What I would give to have someone like jones from GWS playing in keys or ANB role
I think we are in desperate need of someone like that across half forward
