Nyhuis > Ballas
Apeness > Sandilands (if sore)
Hill > Walters
Strnadica > Johnson
North > Banfield

Probably go Nyhuis in for Walters, not really anyone else who stands out at Peel who can play up forward.

I would also drop Ballantyne, he was shit despite crabbing a couple. Switkowski or Hill, whoever is fit.

Can probably go Apeness in for Johnno, he is probably slightly ahead of Strnadica in the pecking order.

That really would leave a young team though, not sure Apeness can match Johnno's 92% TOG

Nyhuis > Walters
Apeness > Johnson
North > Banfield
Banfield has way more credits than that. Can't drop him for one down game when he has been (comfortably IMO) the best rookie this year. Don't mind if Don't mind North in although Tigers at G is a bit of a baptism atm, maybe save him for the week after. Sacrifice Sherro or Sutty.

Don't mind the Ape in for Johnson who was far worse than I expected. Just too slow to do much else other than float loose in the backline (which Ryan is better at anyway).

Walters -> a whipping boy
MJ -> Ape

We'll do well to keep it under 10 goals IMO. Nobody seems to be able to go with them for 4 quarters at the G.

Not much coming through.

Apeness had 37 hitouts today. I'd imagine he gets a chance to have a crack at the forward ruck combo. That said I wouldn't mind giving Sandilands this game off, so perhaps Apeness and Meek/Strandica (who isn't ready).

Sheriden would also be a likely in.

I'd be very tempted to rest anyone with a niggle.

Nyhuis > Ballas
Apeness > Sandilands (if sore)
Hill > Walters
Strnadica > Johnson
North > Banfield

I'd do this except I doubt Ballas will be out so
Apeness > Sandilands (managed)
Hill > Walters (if no Hill then Hughes)
Strnadica > Johnson
Nyhuis > Brayshaw (rest)

I think Nyhuis is an important in to help with Richmonds small.

I'm not against this sort of thinking, but doubt Johnson will be omitted.

Very early in the week to make predictions BUT:

Apeness > Sandilands
Hughes > Crowden (rest)
Sheriden > Brayshaw (rest)
Kersten > Walters

Pearce a cheeky chance to be rested too, especially with Richmond's small line up.

In: Switkowski, Cox and Apeness.

FB: Ryan Hamling Duman
HB: Blakely Pearce Wilson
C: S Hill Fyfe Tucker
HF: Mundy Cox McCarthy
FF: Matera Apeness Switkowski

R: Sandilands Cerra Neale

I: Banfield Langdon Brayshaw Crowden

Anyone know what the go is with Switkowski not playing WAFL this week? With Ballas average form I'd love to get a look at him in a forward pocket.

Just listened to Ross' presser.

I'll imagine Sandilands plays now.

Possibly limited changes with how he spoke of youngsters too.

OUT:
Sandi (rested) MJ (omitted) Crowden (omitted) Walters (injured)

IN:
Apeness, Nads/Meek, Giro, North

Sandi needs a rest. Get him ready for the Saints home game.
Johnson is cooked.
Walters out injured.

Sandi -> Meek
Johnson -> Apeness
Walters -> Nyhuis (Nyhuis to the backline - Blakely to the midfield)

Would be great if Brad Hill is back.

Ballas just lucky that Walters is out.

Nyhuis - Hamling - Duman
Ryan - A Pearce - Wilson
Langdon - Neale - S Hill
Matera - McCarthy - Cerra
Ballas - Apeness - Mundy

Meek - Fyfe - Blakely

Tucker - Brayshaw - Crowden - Banfield

If Johnson stays in i'll be livid. Can anyone think of a suitable matchup against Richmond. Only talls re Riewoldt and Townsend (who is more 3rd tall). Johnson got smashed in the ruck so he's not even helpful in there.

Yeah I like this. Gives us good structure, although I’d be tempted by North. More run can’t hurt.

Why is Crowden out?

IMO I feel someone like Giro could offer a bit more run and carry and hit the scoreboard a bit more. We looked so stagnant today.

Crowden doesn't need your rests

Hey legends ! What’re your thoughts on bringing Harley Bennell in for Walters and leave him deep down forward ? From all training reports he looks as fit and skilful as ever, I’d rather play him at the MCG rather then on the hard surface of Optus for his first game back.
