I am surprised that any Fremantle supporter would want Banfield dropped for the week against Richmond. Can some one please explain why. He is by far the best performer of the new chums so far.

1. He wasn't great on the weekend.
2. He isn't the best out of the F4
3. They will need to be managed eventually.
4. He probably won't be dropped anyways, don't worry.

I can’t imagine that Banfield will be dropped in the near future. Mind you if we were to drop him and say replace him with Sutcliffe, Sheridan or D Pearce it would take the Bigfooty heat off MJ.:thumbsu:

Provided the 21 who survived on Sunday all pulled up in reasonable shape I am tipping that the only in will be a Walters replacement. Perhaps Hughes to free up Hill to play midfield.

I think the three that will be in the mix were the emergencies for the round 6 game;
Hughes (held over on standby), Kersten (listed as third best for Peel) and Sheridan (listed as fifth best for Peel with 29 possessions).

As per Yakamoto. If everyone pulls up fine then just one change for mine with Walters out and Hughes in. Promote Apeness to the emergency list and hopefully with a couple more full games under his belt he can come in and play for the next away game.

Kersten played well at the MCG against Richmond last year so he’d have to be some sort of chance if they decide Johnson needs to be “managed” again.

Please, don't mess with our back 6/7. They have been so good.

I would roll the dice with Ape for MJ. Yes, I know that he probably needs a couple more weeks at WAFL but he is a big guy and able to hold his own as a backup ruck/forward, considering his last game (stats above).

For Walters, IMO, we have available only Kersten (not my first choice with Ape in) and a left-field option like Nyhuis on Rance. The latter looks better for me.

Bring the Ape in for Mj. Rosco reckons he needs another 2-3 weeks. I say thats just more time to get injured! 40 games of footy at all levels in 4 and a bit years for the Apeness. So that means we have about 6 games of footy left in him for the year so we may as well use it now.

Bringin in Nyhuis for Walters. He looked ok for Peel and could prove awkward to match up on.

The first change will be Hughes for Walters. We need to bring in someone for Johnson and maybe release Banfield from the tagging role so we have more outlets for scoring. We're low on scoring power which is the worst thing we could have dry up going up against a side like Richmond. Can very well be a blowout because of this one factor.

can guarantee you it wont be a blowout

from all reports our boys are very sore and this game could well be a massive danger game for us, not only are you a good side but we will be playing our 3rd game in 13 days and considering our game plan is based around pressure i can see our fatigue being a major issue

you guys should have some confidence of a W imo

Good point, might not be a blowout but still don't have confidence of a W. Our conversion still needs work and I see us blowing our chances given what we have to work with up forward.

Did you happen to see the Derby? Our boys will be sore...

If Cotchin is out, it hopefully won't be a blowout.
Richmond should have us covered quite easlily imo

yes i did, but playing 3 games in 13 days is a whole different story

dont forget our game against the dees on anzac eve was about as bruising as they come

Is that a big deal? Two 6 day breaks in a row. We get that most years and you never hear a peep.

Anzac eve - 24th March
Vs pies - 29th Marth
Vs freo - 6th May

Yes, thats a big deal

Plus the Tiges haven't left Melbourne in a month (only round 2 at Adelaide so far?) so should be good to go.

we shall see

i rate you guys so i think it will be a very tight game

Turn it up mate. On paper it should be an easy win for you guys. We pretty much have zero forward line (with Sonny and Tabs out) playing against the form team of comp with the best defence. You realise you're averaging beating teams by 10 goals over the last three weeks? time to give up on the pessimism bro, I know it's been tough for the Richmond faithful over the years, but come on.

If we can make a match out of it it will be a great result for us.

How would the eastern seaboard know that the Derby was on ?. I know for sure, Gerard, Gerard & Eddie aint going to tell you.

Some Freo boys will be pretty sore and are travelling.

Can see Hughes coming in, they will probably give MJ one last chance.

If Freo stay with them 3/4 time and it doesn't blow out ( put on 5 goals to zilch ), I'll be happy. But as said elsewhere, Freo is known to win games they aren't supposed to.

Yes, thats a big deal

Due to the AFL's fixturing, that is what you get, some would say "like a box of chocolates".

But how many of those games are away from Melbourne ?.

Six day breaks, huh, tell it someone who care's, we regularly eat six day breaks for breakfast.

thats interesting, you havent had one this year so far

You haven't had a six day break and have to leave Melbourne, this year so far.

Look the fixture is the way it is, but Freo aren't the team you should be crying to about your 6 day breaks.
