Rama was a very good player, but is past his best.

The Bombers offered him a one year deal (So they should) because they feel sorry for him.

It would have been horrible to see him delisted after winning his cancer fight, but is there room for sympathy in this game? Probably not, but Rama deserves another shot at it.

There's one thing people seem to be forgetting, Kepler doesn't want to play here, he wants more opportunity somewhere else, even if we wanted to keep him we couldn't, pick someone else to choose between.

How do you know he's past his best? It was his first season back (without a pre-season) from life-saving surgery. I'm not suggesting that he hasn't past his best but I can't see how you can say that he has!

He is only 26... there's an old saying, what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger!

Some Essendon fans should throw in the tape of the west coast game when Hird kicked that magic goal in 04!!! Check out Rama's run out of the backline his disposal was high class and below the knees the guy can play like Jordan.. Great move by Matty kepler is softer than butter check out his performance against the crows late in the season he has no idea where the ball is!!!!!!!!!!!! since no other club where willing to give away a third round pick in a weak draft for his services says it all really...

That's fair, his body may never be the same. As for giving someone a 2 year deal, well, that's neither here nor there... Rama could've asked for only a 1 year deal, it would sound like him to put the club first. I don't want to overdo it, but he really is an inspiration, Essendon footballer or not. I'm sure we've all had someone we know or perhaps even a relative that has battled cancer... to come back and play professional football, priceless!

Rama > Kepler anyday.

If you can't kick or handpass a football.......you've no place in the AFL.

If Freo pick him up, good luck to them, but I'd much rather have Rama, sentiment aside!

What I can't understand is...

8 players are gone. (Retired or delisted).

2 got promoted from the Rookie List. That mean we need to pick up 6 new players.

We have Pick Numbers: 6, 23, 39, 55 and 71. That's 5 picks.

Which means 1 player needs to be picked up from the pre-season draft. Instead of delisting Bradley, why didn't we get a round 4 pick for him from Fremantle? I mean that would have been pick 56. That's way better than using pick 71.

I've read people carrying on that we wouldn't have used the pick Fremantle would have given us. But infact we have to use our Round 5 pick now. That is so stupid. And to think that we would be taking a risk in the pre-season draft on finding someone better than Bradley is a gamble.

We won't be going that old in the PSD anymore. I'd rather take our chances and see if there is a decent player who can add something to the team, if not then maybe go a kid who missed out, there would hardly be a difference in ability between #56 and picking one in the PSD

Different positions, plus it is not as if every single player in your 22 needs to be a out and out superstar! Neagle will be solid.

yeh will he play as a full forward full time u think? he just seems like he looks bit heavy but he can always shed it with a quinn pre season. look at jobe
