He will not allow the cats to trade out their 1st rounder for another deal as it will jeopardise his client.

His argument was not as you've framed it but effectively this.. If not reasonable, Crows dont sign-off, so his client doesn't get what he wants.

Also, consider this - player managers are paid a % of player's wages. Incentive to convince client to go to the highest bidder... Might not be Geelong.
