The list of brothers who have played in the same Carlton team is an interesting one. It leads me to wonder who people think were the best brothers to play for Carlton?

I would go Ed and Charlie, over Stephen and David Kernahan. But there are brothers in the list I don’t even know, so perhaps I am missing a stand out candidate.

Michael Sexton was an incredible CHB, his brother Ben was swapped for James Cook but only added a few games together.

Curnows well ahead in my lifetime

So where does that leave Kemp ? Too much class and talent to be left in no man’s land. I agree he’s not a second defender and when all fit there’s no spot for him. Maybe up forward ? We do lack fire power except for the two talks and when Martin is fit (injury prone).

He will get offers from other clubs.

Needs to continue to work on his game, still young so plenty of time

Hope not or that it’s not entertained seriously. That would be a shame

Yes but played where ? Assuming an alternate universe where Marchbank never gets injured again where does kemp he play ?

When Marchbank is fit he plays and plays at centre halfback with weitering in behind him taking the deeper forward, I’ve always found it a strange argument that some believe he’s not a key back he has played every game of his entire career as one and the ground he covers and courage he shows is unmatched in our side for a defender.

Weitering is a terrific player arguably our most important but his one major weakness is he is slow across the ground and when paired with young or Durdin our backline looks too slow and lacks flexibility, Marchbank is the perfect partner for weitering and when fit should always be one of our first picked.

Have heard that he doesn't see himself as a defender but just wants to play so not rocking the boat. Would prefer to be a big mid/hf

All our Ins make us stronger. Our best backline is out on the field. Tick.

Looks like the sub will be a forward. Cottrell, Durdin, Fantasia.

Hoping Carroll has a big game, if he has a break out game, IMO this will really hurt them.

Keen to see what Hollands can do. Strength to strength I think.

Does not matter of Marchbank and Weitering aren't at their best. They still improve us and we know they will get better with every AFL game they play.

The heat is on our small forwards. Motlop is going to push for a spot. I think we are going to look for a marking option. Could be last opportunity for one or two here.

Kemp can go learn another position and still be available as backup for defenders.

I think as a winger he would be awesome as a winger who drops back in defence but he may not have the endurance.

I'd like to see him played as a forward/onballer. See what he can do. There is a huge hole for a quick marking option up forward.

I agree with others. He had too much talent to sit in the reserves but he had rightfully been pushed out of our backline.

With the defensive set up Voss wants kemp behind both guv and marchbank .. hopefully kemp can iron out those nervous bunny in the headlight moments as he has all the attributes to be a fantastic interceptor.. don't like to see him on the outer but we not in a window where we putting games into players for the future .. unfortunately his injuries and covid put him a couple years behind in development when we were a middle of road side ..

Kemp is undersized to play key back, that’s it…

The other 4 defensive spots are taken up by better quality players, that’s it…
Then he's sitting behind Kennedy at the other end of things, mostly out of simple minded fear and limited specialist coaching given for that.

Push is coming to shove and I'd rather Kennedy be the exiting player so we're not completely depleted as a team in 3-4 years.

Why must you keep feeding us inaccurate stats, week in week out. McKay is 204 cm (a touch over) and De Koning is 203cm, glaring faults…

I've gone off the club website. I know they keep changing but I have to use the source.

The bigger query I have is why are you being so bloody rude about it?

Do your own up or move on.

I've said since pre-season that context is everything.
Tonight's game puts our form in to a bit of context... Brisbane just ain't that good and we can't hang our hat on that round 1 win.
In my opinion, tomorrow puts our form in to context. It's suddenly become a bigger game in my view.
Blow them away and we're potentially (scared to say otherwise) the real deal.
Scrape through or even (dare I say it) lose, there'll be question marks.

Brisbane and Collingwood will beat plenty of good sides this year.

Carlton, Freo in WA, Collingwood is not an easy start.
Pies lost to GWS, Sydney and StKilda, those three sides will be pushing for top 4.

At this time of year banking wins is far more important than playing pretty football. We know our best is as good as anyone’s, time for us to do it right and time our run.

I know it won’t happen but I’d love to see McGovern go forward again and leave kemp to take his defensive role as third tall. Otherwise kemp has to bode his time for McGovern to retire in a few years time or take his spot off him. Currently that all he has.

What is bloody rude is feeding up statistics known to be inaccurate by any supporter with more than a passing interest in the players. Granted, the website is just as rude.

Is it my age or just me, but perpetuating false date, just because, is symptomatic of why this world is going down the gurgler. It is insulting peoples’ intelligence. If it is inaccurate, don’t print it, simples.

Incorrect analytics are considerable less helpful than no info.
AFL tables has H at 204cm. Carlton, FootyWire and zerohanger have him at 200cm. Seems like there is a bit of mixed messaging around his height. Someone should confirm it with him.

It's not supposed to be stats under a microscope. It's just comparing age and experience, and height is more about the respective balance of the sides. How many talls or third talls and where one team could get another. A few cms in a key forward don't do much to alter that surface level analysis.
