How was Cumberland so accurate and clean in those first 8 games before the Brisbane final? Since then he shanks everything. I guess similar happened to Stack where he was so well balanced in his first season, then would slip over 10 times a game after that.

I really don't see it with Ryan, but we really have no other talls going forward the next few seasons so he's going to get every opportunity to make it.

Campbell was great, back to early season form, maybe just needed a break and should have been rested earlier.

Sonsie I'm not really sure about. Hugo, Dow and McCauliffe were good.

Tom Brown battling a bit, kid has played 8 in a row, maybe needs a rest.

Because he’s shite and can’t perform at the level. How many senior games does he need to play before his scrotum lickers understand it? He’s like a VFA version of Jake Stringer

How is that Lefau's fault. Bolton backing in to that pack was absolutely stupid.
Wraps up our poor structure/low footy IQ (taking into account lack of troops), surely the plan is Lefau as a taller forward competes to bring the ball to ground, Bolton being a smaller more agile forward then positions for the spilled ball, why would he compete for the mark running backwards, it's not rocket science but at the moment even simple execution of the game is made to look difficult by the players.

Just being aware of your surroundings and knowing where to position yourself shouldn't be that hard. We just seem to put ourselves in the wrong position more often than not anywhere on the ground.

Examples all night but just simple stuff like having someone at the back of a pack rather than all standing at the front and seeing the ball skidding out the back and no Tigers in sight, frustrating to watch, can't fault effort last night but plenty to work on otherwise.

Prestia showing some nice form, and still on the park.

Dow ok, Campbell showing a point of difference.

Rioli just ahead of Floss in Our bnf

Umpiring bearable.
Vlas has actually dropped off in form., Dumb frees. Broad took 6 marks. MIller and our KPDs did not take the marks their defenders did.
Love Rioli's speed

Came into this thread thinking my boy Sonsie was going to be crucified by all a sunder but surprised it was just the regular suspects who want his head regardless of performance.
For me, it was one of his worst performances of the year. Pains me to say it. He generally used it very well and his hands are elite but that's where the positives end. I'm not sure if this a directive from the coaching staff but he doesn't attack the footy if it's in a contest and will just skirt around the outside. I assume the aim is for him to get the pill fed to him on the outside but it doesn't look good by the eye test.
Early doors where he marked around 40 out, he should have gone back and took the shot. His kick to Dusty wasn't bad and I understand the decision but he is easily capable from that distance and he is in the forward line to get involved in scoring.
He is being played out of position so it is what it is. In my opinion he is at risk of getting dropped.

But before he gets dropped or anyone else for that matter, Short needs to be the first one cut. Holy s**t he was horrendous.

Overall loved the effort. I was torn as my brain didn't want the win but my body language said something different as I was leaned in and riding every moment.
Loved seeing the GOAT back to his old self. That goal from 45 on the near wing was absolutely ridiculous and just reminds everyone how good he is.

Anyways, better signs and we move onto the Cats next week. My most hated team in the league.

We’ll finish on 5-6 wins. Too many top 10 players out or playing with injuries at the moment.

sonsie wont get many mentions in the bests but his hands are downright elite, hits players gunning past perfectly every time. hits targets by foot, he just needs a bigger tank and some size, he looks physically small in the middle.
yep. I thought he was pretty good. he does have elite skills and tries hard all game. mykelti also had a great game imo. probably too harsh on the other fellas I mentioned but had a few sherbets at that point so was venting. I thought the effort was there but geez some of the skill errors particularly from short is doing my head in!

I’m officially done with Cumberland. Rose-coloured glasses are finally off.

He gets beaten in contests by most of his opponents. It’s untenable
how did he kick 5 and look like a star against the bears

was only his 3rd or 4th game

carltoon are going to file a complaint about the umpiring 🤣🤣🤣 no this is not april fools

In short: Carlton is set to approach the AFL to gain "clarity" over the game's rules after being on the wrong end of a lopsided free kick count against the Gold Coast.

Blues coach Michael Voss and his Suns counterpart Damien Hardwick were both less than pleased with the officiating during Carlton's 29-point win on Saturday afternoon.

What's next? Voss suggested an official complaint will be lodged to the AFL after he and the rest of the Carlton brass looks through the vision of the game against the Suns."

one time it doesnt go their way they lodge a complaint 🤣🤣🤣

I think it’s time to revitalize Short’s career. Put him on the half forward line and let him easily slot goals from 50-60 meters out.

Remember when Rioli career was in the balance till he went into the defense?

So Balta back, Short forward.
mate short couldn't hit the side of a barn atm his kicking has gone downhill big time. not a bad idea though vos he is a liability kicking it out of defense.....might be time foe the coach to have the hard conversation as his head doesn't seem in it for some reason...

having slept on it gotta say it was a great effort and at least the effort was there. we were in the game right up to the last quarter when there were the typical brain explosions. prestia was great, vlaustin was a rock in defence and mykelti keeps getting better and better. bummers played dusty back into some vintage form which is awesome. losing Bolton late really stung as we were within two kicks. watching the game again and I have to admit macca wasnt as bad as i first thought he was and didn't have an overly bad game. he still is a turn style in defense which is frustrating to watch. we need a tackling specialist to work with the players. I think Coulthard could have made a difference...

Very disappointed in Samson Ryan last night. I have been a supporter but no more. His efforts were atrocious and he has no body strength. In my view we played 1 short by selecting him. And now to be honest I just don't see a future for him.
wouldve won with naimsmith

Cumberland the 20 gamer that you are scapegoating and punching down on, or some other Cumberland?

2nd for tackles and pressure points, forced to play on Ridley, giving away 5 inches.

Nobody denies he tries hard. And most are happy for him to get some opportunities. But nobody can watch that game and see his missed handballs, shanked kicks, poor finishing, giving away 50’s, opponent BOG and think ‘we’ve got one here’. He had a mare, and that’s ok… he’s inexperienced and that will happen. Tackles and pressure points don’t change the fact he had a shocker.

Really enjoyed last nights game, effort was there.
Not really into all the criticism, we all know were we are at.
Really liked Kane, sonsi, Dow and especially ralphsmith games.
Hugo has really started to step up.
Just want the young boys to continue to play.
In the end i new they would get us, wasn't disappointed like previous weeks.
Pick 2 is the goal.
