Walls' latest article how he, Tony Shaw and Rex Hunt went to the football to watch Eagles and Hawks is hilarious. My favourite lines -
"Starved by now, the 'big boys brekkie' served in the Launceston Mall was compulsory fare for all.'
You like big boys, don't you, Robert?
'As we strolled past Boags Brewery, built in 1881, we caught up with a father and son'
..and the relevance of that would be..?
'With the sun on our backs the mood was relaxed. The father was whispering into the son's ear. He was telling the boy the history of the old fellows he was walking with.'
I'll bet he was. '..absolute pompous ********... you'll never believe what he said about Michael Voss.....the other guy, he ********ed up the pies even worse than Mick Malthouse..son, if he tells you that if he was your coach he'd be happy with those big hard biceps, run!'
Quite unexpectedly, I was asked to speak at the official lunch... Guests at the lunch included AFL legend and proud Tasmanian Peter Hudson. 'Huddo' and I made our AFL debuts on the same day on the same ground and played the same position full-forward. It was 1967 Carlton versus Hawthorn but I told the audiences that was where the similarities ended.'
No.. really?
Sunday was the first time we'd seen the Eagles in the flesh.
Always with the flesh.. Wait, you mean 3/4 of the way through this article you're actually going to start talking about the football game you went and saw?'
They now have the best midfield in the AFL
It's a bird it's a plane, it's CAPPTTTTAIN OBVIOUS!
Watching Judd close up you realise that he is so much bigger than the average midfielder
Superb deductive reasoning. So in three years as a respected commentator you've never seen fit to look at a stats sheet and realise Judd is 189cm? Ah well, just chalk it down as homo-erotic reference to 'big' player number #325.
I like the way the eagles play direct, no frills footy. They are the mirror image of their coach.
Yes, I remember Woosh, that super skilled, hyper-attacking pace maniac midfielder.
They would be even better if they opened up their forward line to provide more space for their best four forwards.
........ See there's this thing called flooding, Robert, and there's been quite a bit of discussion about it in recent times. Without getting into the technobabble, suffice to say that if our forward line was crowded it may not have been entirely up to us?
Convincing lazy half forward Ashley Sampi that it's okay to chase and tackle with some ferocity wouldn't do any harm either.
******** you, you ********ing ******ed ********ing piece of ********ing **************** dripping off the ********ing excrement caked ********ing ********hole of ********ing melbourne bull******** ********ing commentary. If you had extracted your ********ing no good piece of ******** for brains from your ********ing **************** for even one second, you maybe would have realised lazy half forward Sampi was leading West Coast in tackles atm?
Just an utter utter ******** brain. I can't believe I read through that.
