The problem with our stake game plan is teams know exactly how to play us. At least we aren’t putting every kick out to the same spot again.

Pretty standard first quarter. Inefficient in attack - mostly due to errant kicking - and vulnerable when isolated in defence. Mind you, you can’t account for blatant umpiring errors that gift goals.

I was most disappointed with our stoppage work. It looked to me that other than JHF, our other mids were beaten to the drop of the ball at clearance and didn’t defend the Eagles outriders very well. It helped that they were so much better in the ruck, with Soldo having a very indifferent start.

Several poor/quiet performers for us:
Jones - too panicky
Aliir and Ratugolea - not decisive enough in the air.
Farrell - too hesitant. If he’s going to call to receive the ball, he needs to be definitive in his decision making.
McEntee and DBJ - non-existent offensively with nowhere near enough defensive pressure either.

Finlayson - costly misses
Marshall - getting cold in Dixon’s warm shadow

Ball movement is good.
Boak looking good on the wing.
Charlie leading is good. Kicking for goal not so much.
Soldo some good and bad.

We just need to get a run on and we should end the game.

While other teams are complaining cause the 50/50 calls go against them occasionally Port has such a long history of mind boggling how the fact could that ever happen umpiring decisions against us.

Must afl teams probably have 1-3 real howlers in the past decade against them.

We have had like 20
