So the dogs can have their main training today and the dees can’t as they are currently in lockdown until test come back negative and are free to train tomorrow...???
if that’s the case wonder what affects it will have on the players with no training session.

They would have already had their main training session for the week. Today's session would have been a captains run, which would not really affect their preparation if they missed it.

You wouldn't do a heavy training session the day before a match. If you've ever been to a Captain's run you'd know that you couldn't even categorise it as training.

Did the Dogs have any training cancelled or postponed earlier in the week when the club went into temporary isolation?

I hope it's on for selfish reasons. Been so pumped to watch this.

Whilst some concerns for how this affects the playing group that should be same for both teams. Roof prob closed if no spectators is good for us. No spectators prob a down for us.

But another positive is we are in shit hot form whilst Dees just lost to Crows. And Salem and Viney prob back for them if game is delayed.

Seems like the game will go ahead, from what I’m hearing. As long as the Melb player’s result comes back negative before game time.

‘Testing the players is a 100% waste of time and money. If the Melbourne player was at a tier 1 site 3-5 days ago, he would barely have time to start shedding. Even if he did pass it on, the rest of the Melbourne will be days off testing positive themselves. It’s all just for show.

Re Wallis: a couple of weeks ago he played almost the entire game in the midfield and was BOG IMO. In his last VFL game however, he was mostly back to his deep forward role and struggled to have an impact, particularly early in the game. Therein lies his dilemma; there is just too much competition in our forward line for his type and far too much competition in our midfield for him as well. I think he could still be useful as a backup in both roles, preferably as an inside midfield tagger, unfortunately, however, we don't often (ever?) use taggers. It would be a sad ending to his career with us if he has to spend the rest of the season in the twos and then leave for greener pastures, but just now that seems to be the way it's going.
I just fear his pace holds him back from a mid role in our senior side, VFL is a slower game so it doesn’t surprise me he would dominate there

The concern with just having a bye this round is that it may lead to a number of weeks off depending on lockdowns and state closures etc. for example if all teams leave Victoria, they likely have to do 14 days quarantine where ever they end up and then your relying on state governments to allow them to train and play each other whilst in lockdown.

One option might be get all teams out of Victoria isolate them for 14 days, no game just training. Use every clubs bye this week, then take away the finals bye giving every club a second bye next week, then continue the season as usual interstate until Victoria is back under control.
Nah just play the games with no crowds in all likelihood it will be over this time next week

My understanding that the player who attended would have to get tested and quarantine for 14 days. His contacts (the rest of the team) would need to get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result. Happy to be wrong.
No different from our players yesterday just need to be tested and cleared which is certain to happen
