Note:
- As you will probably be aware, this match will serve as the sole offering of Collingwood football in Melbourne for this weekend, with the senior side traveling interstate to take on Port Adelaide. The VFL match will finish approximately an hour before the first bounce in the AFL, so fans will have plenty of time to get from Victoria Park to a screen somewhere to watch.

- A win on Sunday would, with the assistance of other results, put Collingwood into eighth position on percentage, with a fortnight remaining in the season.

Over to you...

Is the Frosty decided in the H&A season or do final's goals count?

For the supporters who watch VFL is there anyone of the listed VFL players who could get rookied next year?

Awkward thread title if Kirby is selected to play seniors. #CantKickItToTheKirbBecauseHesInAdelaide ;)

I kind of hope he doesn't get selected for seniors though, he will kick another bag this week and seal the Frosty, an amazing achievement for an 18 year old.

Not likely to get too many players back this week from injury, so probably a good thing we are playing the weakest team in the comp.

A win though takes us one step closer to September action, with 3 wins in the final 3 games almost certainly getting us a spot in the finals now.

Crocker, Sier, Ramsay and Mackie all listed as test this week. You'd expect 2 or 3 of them to return at minimum.

Crocker and Ramsay would be the ones we really want/need. The other two are in 'meh' territory...

Do you know something, or are you just spit-balling...?

Sier doesn't exist, he's unicorn, a dream thought up by Hine and co to save their jobs and give us some hope.

But yes, the other 3 are a chance to return, because they actually exist.

More hoping then anything else, if he doesn't get a debut this week obviously there's only 2 more chances for him, and with our special coach trying to save his job rather then develop our list, the less games left the less chance of a debut.

Surely one of Daicos or Kirby don't play VFL this week, even if they are the travelling emergency. Time to embrace both into the senior fold because thats where they will be playing next year.

There seems to be a cone of silence around the lack of VFL coverage this year. No reason given as to why it's suddenly stopped. My guess however is that Collingwood media is spending too much money of social media posts that clog our feeds day after day, therefore there is no money left for streaming or VFL radio. Not a happy pie here

Yes I have signed, emailed, put up posts etc.

Couple of stress points with implications for us this weekend...

- Essendon vs Box Hill: For some reason, the automatic predictor is giving this one to Essendon, which is odd, considering Box Hill have been one of (if not the) the best side(s) all year. So, let's give the Hawks the benefit of the doubt and assume they win. That sees Essendon remain on 32 points. If we then do our bit and win (with the rest of the scenario unfolding as below), we rise into the eight and effectively equal 7th on percentage (al beit a gap of about 40% as of writing this). That then leaves open the possibility of being able to jump Essendon in the last fortnight, should we keep winning.

- Casey vs Northern Blues: We're currently equal with the Blues on premiership points (28 apiece going into the round), with a small percentage gap separating the teams (92.81% for them, 90.84% for us). A win for us and a loss for them sees us jump ahead by a game, so we need the Demons to do us a solid...

- Williamstown vs Werribee: The Tigers sit a game clear of us in 8th, but with a weak percentage of 86.75%, a tally which will only sink further if the Seagulls do what they should down at that fortress of theirs and blow Werribee apart. And if we do the business against the Roosters, we will jump Werribee and put further space on them in the percentage stakes.

It will be, to borrow a phrase, a big weekend in VFL footy...

Updated squad, with the senior bench coming out. Still have to account for at least one traveling emergency from the trio of Daicos, Broomhead and Josh Smith. Interwebz, do your thing...

Just looking at the players who will be eligible for finals. The ones of interest at the moment are Broomhead, Smith, and Blair.

Broomhead and Smith have currently played 12 AFL games, one more will make them ineligible. Broomhead needs to play one more VFL game to be eligible. Smith needs to play two more VFL games to be eligible.

Blair has played 10 AFL games (11 after Sunday), so he needs to miss at least one of the last two matches to be allowed to play finals. He has already played 8 VFL games.

But I guess the main thing to worry about is actually making finals first!
