We look to make it 4 in a row as we take on North Melbourne down in Hobart, where we have not played since the infamous 38-15 match in 2013.

Last Friday Night, Port Adelaide made it 3 consecutive wins with a win over the Western Bulldogs, while across the Nullabor, North Melbourne went down by 78 points to Fremantle.

Form:
North Melbourne:
17th, 1-7
Port Adelaide: 11th, 3-5

Will Charlie Dixon come straight back into the AFL team this week?

North will be absolutely smashed in the media this week.
Expect a furious response.

Think we will struggle big time in the first half, and go to the break behind, but will break it open in the tbird quarter and get to 25 - 30 points up midway through the final stanza, before allowing Norfs a late flurry.
We hang on to grab 4 premiership points with an un-exciting 9 point victory.

A win is a win.

The good thing about being in the position we are is there is no chance of the team being complacent and just expecting a win in games like this. This team has already used up all those chances with Hawthorn and Adelaide.

Every game against weak opposition is an opportunity to build the percentage that could mean the difference between making finals and not making finals.

I'm in two minds about playing Dixon. On one hand, this team won't reach the heights it can without him in the side - as long as they don't target him as the first option. On the other hand, playing against a weak North Melbourne will probably see the players regress into bad habits if Dixon dominates.

It will all depend on how training goes IMO. I'm not playing him until the team continually picks the best forward option at training with him playing - that means only bombing it to Charlie when he's one out.

2019 Rnd 21: Geelong 9.15 defeat North Melbourne 1.8
2019 Rnd 22: North Melbourne 22.12 defeat Port Adelaide 8.10

Never underestimate how awful a Hinkley coached team can play against a bottom of the barrel opponent under the pump

North weren't a bottom of the barrel team in 2019 - they won 10 games and finished with a percentage of 100.

The big risk this week is the weather. You can get really windy days down in Hobart that make games quite flukey. And the North players have experience in those conditions whereas most of our players don't. Hoping for a dry, still day.

If we lose against North, the administrators should immediately be brought in after the final siren to shut the club down for good.

Works the other way too - we won the 2007 prelim by 87 points, but that didn't count for much a week later.

Also I'll say it til the cows come home.

Dixon needs to come back (whether this week or next) primarily as a ruckman to work in tandem with Hayes, not as a forward (apart from when resting). Our forward line is fine. Hayes needs a chop out and those two are the best ruck combination we have. Pep, Todd and Ollie should never have to ruck again.

.the forecast is actually looking pretty good atm in terms of wind. Might be some showers about though

Considering what Goldstein did to young Peter Ladhams in that horrific 2019 game, I dread what could happen to 5 game Hayes against the same team.

The problem is, coming off of all the thumping's they've endured through over the past month, it of course likely means that they'll pull a season best performance out of their arse & thump us out of nowhere. Mind you, that could also be better for the club in the long term to enforce change.

If the midfield is as weak as its shown to be, there's no reason why Rozee & Butters can't get 30+ each.

Marshall should continue some stellar form too so long as he's still eating the sandwiches and taking pack marks.
