Could we ask for more from this game? It has been so close all the way through and just 2 points seperate the teams at half time. WA made the most of their chances in the first quarter but were wasteful in that one, while Vic Country have been a little inconsistant in their effort levels, allowing WA to regain a bit of steam when they have them on the ropes.

This is now a commanding lead for Country. WA haven't been able to peg them back in the last part of that quarter and they have skipped away to a 4 goal lead. And wouldn't you know it, the siren beats him to it! What a miserable second half for Western Australia after they looked so promising in the first half. It was tight, even and high-pressure qooty but Vic Country just had too much heart in that second half and ran away with it to the tune of 10 goals. It could have been far more if not for the terrible accuracy of Vic Country which again manifested itself in the final stretch. Mr Eagle finally got a full game to show his worth and was a standout in the WA midfield. Farrand held his own well until the denoument while the constant rotation of players leaves it hard to make much sense of the rest of the stats.
For Country there were 5 standout players: royboy2 was a revelation in the ruck, Croweater, ff88 and BILC had a lot of the ball, while Gentlemen's 5 goals 1 tore the game away from WA.

Pretty embarassing stuff, we were okay for probably two and a half quarters but after then it was a fairly limp effort. Mr Eagle did pretty well in the midfield, larrikin was also pretty good too with myself, peterss and kaylie chipping in on the flank. Reggie did okay from limited opportunities. Other than that we were very lacklustre with quite a few of the veterans struggling to have an impact. I sense a few retirements after this carnival unfortunately.
