Half the list managers want constable. Contracted 2 years. Required player. Likely to play 20 games next year barring injury. Not getting him for a 32 year old mate
It’ll be picks anyway if was to happen, as we both have our trading targets outside each other.

Dees finished top 4 last year - Brisbane bottom 6. Good lucky writing a team off off a year out from 2020 finals.

If Kelly walks you could be the Dees and if Higgins stays we could be the Lions. The only winners then would be Kelly and Higgins.
Doubt Cats will be top 4 next year to be honest and North havent shown much under Shaw to say they will be big improvements in 2020, North still few years away...

north haven't shown much under shaw.................hmmmmmmmmmmm that's interesting because thrashing richmond collingwood and 88 pt thumping of port adelaid isn't considered improvement. Good luck with topping up older players, higgins for geelong's 1st rounder

Will give Shaw benefit of the doubt and get North to 9th next year and Higgins will be North's for a while so cheer up...

Higgins 2020, north player. North is winning, get to keep a first round pick player.

Constable 2021, cats player. Geelong is winning by walking away from this one.

Regardless this whole thing is a beat up. Higgins is just trying to push for an extra year, he's not seriously going to Geelong

Whats more interesting is North just don't sign Higgins and Goldy up now, give their supporter base something to cheer about over the summer, looks like North are trying to shop both around...

You think?...

North are mad and that wont happen. You can keep your Higgins.
think thats a very strong chance of happening. Wont trade out one of our best (contracted) players for nothing. Hasn't there been talk Constable wants out though to seek more opportunities? Could be mutually beneficial for both clubs and players.

I don't think so, Higgins is contracted. As for Goldy, he'll be taking a paycut. It is not a simply matter of signing a contract and that being the end of it. There'd be an in principle agreement in place and a lot more at play with potential trades etc, to see what Goldy's contract may look like. Obviously some free space it retiring Thompson and Wright, what happens with Wood and potential players traded in will shape Todd's contract length, front/back loading.

He'll play 20+ games next year and is contracted for 2 years. Doesn't make any sense

We don't want your older player, lol. It's just a media beat up. If you think a 31 year old (32 years old next year), is worth a first rounder, you have rocks in your head. Maybe if he was 29, but he's got 2 seasons left, at best.

Port Adelaide beat us, and we beat you by 55 points and kept you to your lowest score in history. Doesn't mean anything. You also beat Richmond when they were at their worst injury point in the season. We beat them the following week by 67 points. Again, doesn't mean anything.

Ablett is one of the greatest the game has ever seen, and he didn't even net a first rounder. No chance that Higgins nets that, even if we were interested (which I wouldn't see any reason why we are)

stay salty and continue to top up mate, just watch out for the cliff.

Really unnecessary. The Geelong poster was very civil and constructive in his response to you.

Also why would anyone be salty of North Melbourne (of all clubs) lol

Looking forward to 32 year old Selwood playing in the 2’s next year based on this thread.

The difference selwood don't need a first round pick. Higgins contract going to expire next year anyway.

You know Selsy and Ziebell can reminisce in the maggos how they could actually run and lay a tackle, just for good old times...

Constables contracted and required. He will stay where he is and so will Higgins.

So both players are contracted. Will Geelong trade years and years of Constable for 2 years of Higgins. ? Constable was linked to be interest in moving to Stk.. easier best22 to get into ..and mates within the club..

They would trade it if they thought they could get a premiership I don’t think the signs look good for Constable when Geelong is expressing a lot of Intrest in other experienced mids.

Not at all we have been media linked to Higgins and Steven which I think we will go for steven and we need to replace Kelly Ablett and Selwood, Constable will play fair few games next year if he's form and non injuries hold up...
