There's a kids showdown at Alberton next Saturday.

To follow from the kids practice showdown they played at Thebarton, and the country mostly kids showdown they played at Port Pirie.

We may be diluting the concept.
Have no idea what you’re saying, but yes, I think you might be diluting the concept aka going on a tangent.

AS I posted before, at least 2 of those goals were on Brown...

He was Mackay’s opponent on the wing & DMac didn’t have any interest in tracking him at all in that 1st quarter and Farrell was just waltzing into 50 by himself, Brown had to try to leave his own man to try to cover Mackay‘s unaccountability. I suppose at least Mackay got one of those back by setting up a goal in the last quarter when ironically his opponent at the time totally forgot about him on the outer wing for 10 minutes.

Farrell started against MacKay out on a flank but finished the quarter against Brown. Don't know if we made the move or they did but that's how it transpired

Willem is a local lad that I saw plenty of for the Ballarat Rebels in the TAC, he had an exceptional tank then and it will have only got better in an AFL system. He's also a wiry hard nut that loves getting his hands dirty in the contest and with his overhead ability quite capable when he drifts forward so he could stretch Greenwood's endurance if that's the match up your suggesting.
What he Like drifting back at this time, Forward we should have him covered and if Greenwood struggling then CEY will move on him,
But the Last couple of weeks Drew has been struggling to find the ball, his contested numbers have dropped off. He a lot more Handball than kick so I would Back an experienced Greenwood in at this time.

With Ollie out Drew will play a more prominent role and is in good form. Far more damaging than Ollie.

Would have preferred Captain Kleenex to stay in to be honest.

What I don’t get is why Seven think Saints v West Coast will be better to show than the Showdown. Surely the non Saints Vic supporters would prefer to watch the better game?

The great thing about the showdown is it doesn't matter whether the Victorians care (which they do these days) or if it's shown on TV over there, the passion is real here. The hatred is real. If anything it's growing over time.

Personally I'm a little worried, last week was a hugely physical 4 quarter effort from the crows and I wouldn't read much into it if we stuck with port for the first half and can't match them in the 2nd and they run away with it. Going to be a very hard task to back it up again if the showdown is like last week which I suspect it will be. Hopefully it's free flowing and we can put a gap on them, but I doubt it will be an open free flowing match.

If we can back up after last week, and put ourselves in our rightful spot in the top 4 it will be a huge effort and great reward for effort for the players.

I think if Port are all about tradition then they should go the whole hog and change the their clubs name to the original name of the port, Port Misery. Kinda suits them better.

Motlop scares me. He's that typical small/medium forward spud that has the best games of their career against us.
At least we don't have Dougy to kamikaze through our half back line this time.
