Roast So, when does Burgess start getting some scrutiny?

So you'd reckon these 11 will still be around next year and no trades for them. What a rag tag looking bunch. But looks like they all have their Nikes on.

Clurey, Chad, Hombsch, Charlie, Sammy G, Boak, Robbie, Ollie, Hammer, O'Shea and Broadie

Charlie is a massive unit and Ollie looks bigger if that's possible. Good to see Hamish made the trip..

You'd think our apparel sponsor will be chuffed with all our boys loving on Nike with their social footprint

Seems like tall poppy syndrome to me.

People naturally want to bitch and moan about everything and anything when things aren't going well. The guys are basically going on what used to be the post season footy trip, but in this day and age rather than getting on the piss it's about using the status afforded to them as elite athletes to gain access to their US heroes and the facilities in which they train. Am sure there will be opportunities for self-promotion with selfies with basketball or NFL athletes conveniently arranged by their management too. That's not a complaint or being cynical, that's just the way things are in the relentless spotlight that exists these days.

It's pretty staggering that some can still find ways to whinge about additional work being done by the players in their own time. If it was an official part of pre-season organised by the club and it looks to be more play than work, yeah by all means question what's going on but it's not...

Hope they enjoy their time refreshing their heads from a year of mediocrity, stay in decent shape over the pre-pre-season and realise that if they want the group to stay together as claimed then we're going to need to see results.

They've always worn nike stuff.

ISC doesn't make boots, so they all have footwear sponsors, who happen also send them apparel.

FWIW the ISC website doesn't exactly have any PAFC stuff available.
There are AFLPA rules / CBA rules that say the clubs can't force players to wear apparel and boots that made by a club sponsor. Players have freedom to wear what they want by the manufacturer of their choice.

I envy the players using the facilities available to them in the US, it wouldn't be cheap for the players I wouldn't have thought. I've been to a ducks game myself, great experience. In fact, Oregon is a beautiful state, much like Adelaide in some respects apart from the geography.

Walked past Charlie at the Hilton in Alice Springs, sometimes you don't realise how big he is until you are next to him. I'd hate to be a defender knowing he was coming from behind at full pace.

What's with all the injuries farkin?!
Is a good thing he does not take training at my Masters team. Half the team would be cooked/dead.

Burgo plays at my soccer club (I am semi retired due to kids sports), but might head along to presentation night. Any questions?

INB4 why are we so small and weak!
What specific programs will you implement to greatly improve our players SpeedEndurance. No not speed and endurance but SpeedEndurance where our players are able to make repeated high energy high velocity bursts of play and maintain their high end speed over repeated efforts for all 4 quarters?? Will you bring in people from an athletics background ie sprint coaches to improve both technique and training loads?? Are you prepared to admit that in the first 5 or so games of the year we got it wrong expecting every team to pace themselves because of the limited 90 rotations rule, but instead they decided it was better to go flat out from the first bounce - impose a bit of shock and awe get in front and hold on rather than take the turtle approach?? If you do admit we got it wrong, what did you do to change this? What do you reckon worked and what change after round 5 didn't work so well??

Our kicking was very poor last season the worst efficency rate in the league and most number of clangers in the home and away season. What does your data say re an estimate of the energy wasted by players having to chase players because of our high turnovers and players running forward expecting the ball to advance forward, but went back the other way? Is there any standard metrics used to measure this at the club and/or across the league and if so where did we rank???
