Not for me. the way he left throws some shade for me. The comments about coming home to Carlton etc
The club didn’t mean as much to him as we thought it did.
He was beloved but it wasn’t requited

Just checked Tex’s stats because I had a gut feeling something special was happening with Tex, and not just the 500 goals.

If he packed his bags in 2021 and called it quits, he deserved club legend status. Now with his current form (2021 and 2022 form), he is comparable to any elite forwards of the now and the past!

A 200 game player vs a 6 gamer. What was even the point.
It’s great watching Tex moving freely and playing this awesome again. If only we’d not worked him into the ground over Puke’s last 2 years. Remember the mini preseason he was going to have that was cut short after 2 losses.
If last year is anything to go by, Tex will need managing. I’d prefer him play less games at this level than him burning out and struggling the last half of the year. I’d be pencilling in 2 games off at the bye, so he gets 3 off.
I’m harsh on Sloane as a leader but it really is disappointing that his body hasn’t been able to recover like Tex’s has. Would have been nice if it had.

He won't see it, but it has to happen that way. 5 or 6 games, then a week off.

I was just trying to show the trend he’s setting for this season. If you want to be literal season for season, then we can combine his 3 games with the last season (17 games), his goal average would be 3 goals. With disposal average around the same as his best season.
He is currently in elite form.

Tex is in better goal kicking form than Rachele and just about every other forward (big or small) right now.
The number of games played is irrelevant to the current form for this season.
Missed 9, 14 and 17, I’m guessing 14 was the bye and maybe 9 was the calf? His possession tally dropped off the map in the last few games. Definitely will be better for a break and there is 1 more year on the clock.
Play Tex as the sub for a game or two maybe?
i'd be having him totally focussed on physical recovery on weeks off.

"One-handed marking" doesn't tell you anything about Tex, it shows poor delivery to Tex. The ball is too high to mark two-handed, so he tries to tap it down because you get better reach one-handed.

I’ll spell it out to you because you don’t seem to want to focus on the context but only interested in the John bashing..
Rachele is being heralded as a young gun and acknowledged by the wider footy community as one of the best kicks as a forward (small, big, miscellaneous). And rightly so. I’m a big fan of his leg.
If you bothered to check the attached link. Rachele has kicked a total of 12 goals and 6 behinds for an average of 2 goals 1 behind. Tex has kicked 12 goals and 3 behinds for an average of 4 goals 1 behind. Goal kicking accuracy (per scoring shots) is in favour of Tex with 80%, with Rachele on 67% accuracy.
Generally, kicking accuracy has no bearing on how experienced you are as a player. It’s mostly a natural- born trait, and you can be inexperienced with a better kicking accuracy than a 200-300 gamer.
