Internet was lame. I had a 20m cord to run from the phone in the kitchen so i could use my laptop in my bedroom. And if the phone rang it cut in on the connectionPhone boxes are something I just don't see any more. I don't know if Telstra have gone around and ripped most of them out, but on the rare occasion I'm stopped at a set of lights or something and see one just off the footpath I'll think 'oh yeah, I remember those'. And it wasn't that long ago that I was under 17 and using one to call home to get a lift from the station etc.
1990s internet was pretty lame. In fact 1990s tech was pretty lame in general. GoldenEye is still a good movie but it's funny watching Natalya ask the IBM guy for 14.4 modems and CD-ROM like it is cutting edge. Which for 1995 I guess it was. To me it feels like that dates the film even though it was made in the 90s and Cold War Russians were still the enemy.
This is the most 1990s website ever:
Yes, but whomever uses them now? I cannot recall using a public phone since early 2000's.Def still public phones around. I heard somewhere telstra has to have a minimum no. of them still
I am pretty sure you can send a text message from public phone boxes these days.Yes, but whomever uses them now? I cannot recall using a public phone since early 2000's.
Got no idea. Cannot even recall last time I used a phone booth. I am tipping not done it for over 15 years.I am pretty sure you can send a text message from public phone boxes these days.
same, last time I used a phone booth would have been back in the early 2000's when I was living in the UK. Also the last time I used a internet cafeGot no idea. Cannot even recall last time I used a phone booth. I am tipping not done it for over 15 years.
Yeah, I think I used an internet cafe overseas around 2006. By that time they on their last legs apart from in the CBD of Melbourne where one or two I remember seeing a year or two ago around Elizabeth or Swanston Street. Guess multi player gamers use them still.same, last time I used a phone booth would have been back in the early 2000's when I was living in the UK. Also the last time I used a internet cafe
