Obviously a disappointing last 10-15 minutes, but a pretty commendable effort to seriously challenge the greatest team in the history of the 'W.

Gutted but i can't fault the effort. That third quarter we honestly might look back on and think this is the one that just got away
Loz should have at least swapped for Harris late, North seemed to get on top each time Campbell was in there

Was always kinda expected the season to end losing to North at some point, but still hard to take. Great work all through the game from everyone. Missed Pearce in the ruck during the middle of the last. Also just gassed it seemed.
Mahoney, Wotherspoon, Taylor really surprised me with how well they played during finals. Gillard excellent too. Hore unbelievable.

As i said, disappointing as it is. Didn't roll over and let them have it easy. They will be sore heading into next week and know they had to play out the game to their best to get over us
If we stay fit and healthy and retain this list next year while trading in some ready talent we can go further next year (Please stay Zanker)

Yeah our core is pretty youngish and promising.
Pearce has looked cooked at times this season but was immense today. Hope she can go again. Might need to manage her a bit more to get through the season.

I don't think i can give my bests today
The back 6 (except for maybe Lampard) where outstanding i guess, Particularly Taylor, Chaplin and Gillard
Goldrick had a bit of irish disposal back in today, Mackin looks a little slow still
Lampard probably the weakest part of the backline today unfortunately
Bannan somewhat had a dip today, more so than last week anyway
Mahony and Wotherspoon still developing very well, a bit less impact today but can see them trying
Zanker just not utilised very well
Harris started well but got worn down in a change of match up
Loz was dominant in the ruck today, again wore plenty and had some great defensive plays
Paxy started on fire but clearly burned out
Hore still good but blanketed a bit better
McNamara had a great game but turned the ball over so much
Fitzsimon after the season she had, probably not her best outing. They seemed to favour Mackin coming up to the stoppages today, as i said looks a bit slow
The youngsters O'Heir and Ebert had moments but probably a little caught out in this final
Heath couldn't quite get as involved today, great tackle in the third tho
Hanks was better than last week, but still kind of eh
Campbell as i've said was relief ruck and wasn't overly effective today in there or around the ground, sorry
Bring the aggro from that stinging into next season thanks

Yeah she seemed to take a while to get going, started very slow and sluggish. But as the season went on i found myself eating my words. Brought her body back into it and most of her tap work was good. Should go on next year if she's not feeling to beat up, got thrashed around in the finals. If she thinks her body holds up she should go around again (that said the rule changes may also impact how she plays next year, loves to take the space in the ruck contest and use her bigger frame)

"AFLW Senior Coach Mick Stinear has made the difficult decision to depart the club after 10 seasons at the helm.
Stinear, who became Melbourne’s inaugural AFLW Senior Coach ahead of the competition’s first season in 2017, has been instrumental in building the women's program from the ground up.
Across Stinear’s 10 seasons, he coached 101 games, led the Demons to multiple finals series, and guided the club to its historic inaugural AFLW premiership in Season Seven.
This also includes a remarkable record of finishing inside the top four in eight of his ten seasons in charge.
Stinear said it was the right time to prioritise his family after giving his all to the program over the past decade.
“This is the right decision for my family and I after 10 amazing years at the club,” Stinear said.
“The demands of coaching at this level are enormous, and while I have absolutely loved every minute of my time at Melbourne, I walk away knowing I have given everything I can.
“I have been surrounded by quality people every step of the way. The connection within this group is what makes Melbourne special, and that is something that I will miss.
“To build something from scratch and to top it off with a premiership in 2022 is something I will always be extremely proud of.”
Melbourne CEO Paul Guerra praised Stinear’s impact and legacy on the program over a long period of time.
“Mick has been an exceptional leader of our AFLW program and has played a critical role in shaping the team into what it is today,” Guerra said.
“To build a program from its inception and achieve the sustained success Mick has including a premiership is a testament to his character and his commitment to the program.
“We thank Mick for everything he has given to the club. He leaves a significant legacy, and we wish him, Rachel, Fitzroy and Jack nothing but the very best for the next chapter. They will always be welcome at Melbourne"
