They really didn't say much about it on the TV, but why were the Sydney supporters booing Matthew Lloyd when he collected the Mar Gook (sp?) Trophy. Yes they might have had a few umpire decisions go against them, but it wasn't Essendon's fault. It was the umpires. What did they expect Essendon to say "Here, you have this, you deserve to win"?

And on the booing, didn't Fremantle supporters face the dogs last year when they were booing Chris Judd for getting some medal. Will Sydney supporters face the same criticisms for their actions? While you may fell like your robbed, at least have some respect for the opposition and what the trophy is all about.

I thought it was hillarious.

After being at the 1996 Prelim there and having a "Sydney Winner" kicking my seat and telling me how good Paul Kelly was and that he was going to win the "Simpson Medal". I replied....."What is ge going to walk his camel across a desert to collect it?"

Or the 1 point loss the following year where another Sydney Winner told me his name was "Darren Beeeewick".

They are absolute idiots up there.

As hird stated it will be his last time he plays in Sydney, with the way the crowd carried on it should be the last time most of our blokes play in sydney. We play them in melbourne about 1 in 5 times, due to their crowds behaviour we should not have to go up there for another 5 years... that will teach them ferral ****5rs.

Hey guys, I just posted about the same issue on the Swans board. All the people where I sit were booing the umpires not your team. Crappy decisions were made against both sides on Sat. night and it is a shame because it was a pretty good game of footy. Sad that the players couldnt just play without the whistle being blown every 5 seconds.

Most of us appreciate the fact that it was James Hird's last game in Sydney. Im coming to Melbourne in August for what could be his last game at the MCG, that's how much James Hird is valued by other club's supporters.

Yes the crap music gets played before every match.

Dont put us all in the same boat. Just because the umpires werent still out on the field doesnt mean we cant continue giving it to them. Essendon played well and deserved the win, well done, hope you guys can keep it up. Lets hope next time you guys travel up here the game can be played without unnecessary interference from the umpires.

the game went according to plan .the time keeper blew the siren 5 minutes early just so we can go early .thanks to our LOYAL supporters who came and watched us WIN and to our supporters all over the world ,,thanks .to our players ,,oh they cant hear me as they are blowing kisses to the sydney appreciation crowd .
